Pre reqs in shorter time
I got a B in anatomy, and A's in micro and physio. I was able to transfer them to CSULB, and that's where I'm starting this coming spring.

I went to East LA College and did their trifecta option. You get anatomy, physio, and micro done in one semester. Each class is 5 weeks long. I know it's pretty popular now and a friend of mine ended up being #100 on the waiting list for fall of 2012. It's definitely worth doing though.

Cal State Long Beach interview
Glad I could help Dr. Choco!! Yes, I was accepted by the nursing department for this current semester, but the school denied to change my major because of the timely graduation policy. Somehow I kind of just slipped through the cracks and they should've caught me before I got to the point of going to orientation and stuff. I am so happy I was accepted for this spring. Definitely more motivation to graduate . I'm glad that the department is warning people now so no one has to go through what I, and 8 others, had to go through. Don't lose hope!! You totally have a great chance at making it in for your 2nd bachelors, so don't forget to apply!

Cal State Long Beach interview
I'd maybe take it up with a counselor. When I was fighting the school's decision before realizing there was nothing I could so, I was being told to just apply back to the school for a 2nd bachelors. I only had 11 more units to graduate, so I grudgingly accepted the truth, and listened to what they said. I actually did not have to interview again. I am pretty sure the interview it just to make sure that you communicate well with others, and that once you're offered an interview you're in a good position. With a 9.5, I am sure you have a GREAT chance at getting in. Don't give up. I thought I was going to give up on nursing altogether, but I am starting next semester, and I couldn't be happier. The people in enrollment services are pretty helpful too. I asked them multiple times if I could apply for my second bachelors for spring even though I have technically "graduated" yet.

I would think you can apply your in the spring for fall 2012. That's what I did. I am graduating this semester (pending that I pass all my classes, which won't be an issue haha) so I was told that I can apply for my 2nd bachelors in nursing for spring. As long as you are for sure graduating next semester, you can apply for the program the following semester. I just applied back to CSULB for post-baccalaureate study under the additional bachelors degree in nursing, as well as applied to the nursing department.

Yes I am graduating next month with a BA in child development and family studies. I suggest applying for fall 2012 for your 2nd bachelors if you're graduating in May. With your grades, and the fact that you were asked to go in for an interview, you have a really good chance at getting in for your 2nd bachelors. There's also accelerated 2nd degree programs, and the entry level master's program at CSULB (I don't think it's being offered until 2013 though). Best of luck to you! I highly suggest that you apply for fall!

Cal State Long Beach interview
I know it's a little late, and that everyone has found out if they made it into the program or not, but I just wanted to let you know that I was in the same position for this fall semester. I got into the program for fall 2011, but the school refused to change my major because I had already completed 115 units. I had just about everything ready to go to start, and there was nothing I could do. I talked and emailed everyone I could, and there was no changing the school's decision. Thankfully, I got accepted for spring 2012. I am graduating next month, and going right back to school. I really hope that if you got in that the school is letting you change your major. I was devastated for over a week!

CSULB Nursing Interview Fall 2011!!!
I have not been interviewed, and I was told I would find out in a few weeks. I would be upset too. It's definitely not fair to keep you guys waiting! Especially when you have other offers. I do not understand why they will not say anything if they do not plan on taking transfers. I know this has happened before, but I thought it was a known fact that they would not be accepting transfer students. Congrats on SDSU LoveLikeWoe, I'd say you should accept the spot if Long Beach keeps prolonging the situation. I think that Long Beach just found out about the budget cuts. I couldn't imagine that they'd go through interviews knowing that funds would be too low for transfer students.

CSULB Nursing Interview Fall 2011!!!
That's what I was told from the other students turning in applications. I wouldn't take my word for it. I'd call the office to see what's going on.

CSULB Nursing Interview Fall 2011!!!
I got the same call today. I asked others that were filling out applications what it was all about, and apparently because of budget cuts long beach isn't taking transfer students again. I didn't know that the budget cuts were that severe still!
