  1. They have 2 different BSN programs.. One for "traditional" students (who are going into the program with no nursing background), and another is their RN-to-BSN if you are already a nurse..Hope that helps!(I went there for my LPN and my RN so I'm very familiar with their programs!)
  2. I didn't get in either I have a 3.8, great references and essay too, and a little less work experience. But it still stinks! I really just wanted to do an online RN-BSN because it's so flexible, so I'm ending up doing SUNY Plattsburgh's because that's still online as well - plus they accepted me, which is obviously a bonus! :) Good luck if you apply to SBU next year - or try Platts, they are rolling admission I believe!
  3. thanks for that info - that at least makes me feel better about clicking around the website like a maniac.. it will be a little obvious for me to find! as far as the associates program goes, i definitely know how you feel.. i had originally applied to SBU wayyy back and an associatesprogram, but only got into the associates, and now going back for my bachelor's (RN-BSN program).. not that i think that's what the future holds for you.. i hope SBU pulls through!!! :)
  4. ler, you don't have to have all pre-req's done before even starting the program.. i had A&P I and II, micro, english and psych done.. i took chem, communications (they have a "oral communication for the healthcare provider course" that can only be taken there b/c it doesn't exist anywhere else), and intro to sociology - all while in the RN program.. there's plenty of time to take it all.. i think you just have to have 3 or 4 out of all of those above listed before being accepted.. hope that helps!
  5. where do we see that kind of info? what did you click through to see that? maybe i have been too and just can't find it? or is it obvious? i'll still keep everything crossed for you that you get pulled off waitlist and into acccepted!!
  6. ruby, can you post when you hear something? i'm dying to know when other people start hearing.. thanks!! :)
  7. ruby, I havent heard anything yet either.. I was told in an email that I should hear late April, with a second orientation bring held on may 17th bc of the delay in notifying everyone.. Fingers crossed for us!!
  8. yay!! congrats roxy253!! that's fantastic news
  9. I applied to to RN-BSN program that is online and starts in the summer and haven't heard back yet.. The Nsg office gives the same response that they have been giving for everything.. That decisions will be made for that program by mid-April.. I view this as mid-April, so I'm getting veryyyy impatient!!! I'm addicted to refreshing Solar, and it's driving my hubby crazy :)
  10. Hi! I actually work for St. Catherine's so I can tell you what the story is.. St. Catherine's Nursing Home has a CNA training program that they hold on-site. That is their program, which allows you to sit for whatever the test is that CNA's take to be registered. Some state certification test. If you are a current employee, St. Catherine's (as with all CHSLI hospitals.. St. Charles, St. Francis, Good Sam, etc) also reimburse for any tuition spent on any healthcare related field (up to a certain amount per year).. Nursing, sonographer, phlebotomy, etc etc.. You are reimbursed more if you work full-time for them, less if you are part-time. If you are a current employee of one of those places, and qualify for Suffolk only's nursing program (good grades on all of the pre-req's, etc), then they have a "partnership program" which they pay for in advance, instead of reimbursing you after the fact. That's competitive though, as they have a lot of employees vying for a seat, and only a certain number of seats given to each facility per semester. Hope that at least clears up that for you :) Good luck!
