  1. I wouldn't mind working weekends too much if I really have to, it's just finding a job that will allow those hours. I have no work experience so I'm pretty much destined for fast food. The most frustrating thing is that I feel like I shouldn't have to work right now! I give my mother 30% of my financial aid check for rent and then she nickles and dimes me out of whatever I try to save
  2. I'm at CCC doing prereqs full time. I leave for school at 8 am and don't get home until at least 530 all week. I am NOT the type of student that can read something once and magically know it, I have to work and work and work at it to understand something. I do not have a paying job and now my mother (who I live with) is insisting on my getting one but I have no idea how I would possibly be able to get a job and keep the hours she has in mind AND keep my grades up. I'm feeling very frustrated right now and could use some advice.
  3. That would bug me so much. Sciences build on each other, any weak links in you're education can slow you down a lot down the road. Definitely push yourself to understand what should be the class material but if it was me I'd complain at least anonymously. That's ridiculous for a class like biochemistry.
  4. I'm doing my prereqs at chemeketa now, not quite ready to apply yet. Good luck though!
  5. oh that was NOT a curse word
  6. Holy ******* moly...I'll ask about switching up what department I'm in too. Right now I'm assigned to the CVCU waiting room. It's usually really slow as I said and if there are people they generally don't want to make small talk. I've got the chaplain's (though we don't call him a chaplain, I can't remember exactly what his official title is) number on a sticky by the computer screen.
  7. I was wondering if anyone had any cool volunteering ideas to help with experience and points. Normally I do a three hour stint as a receptionist at the hospital where I pretty much stare at a wall and change coffee every hour. I can't do it this term because there simply isn't enough time in my week day but next term I'm going to restart that again and hopefully something else a little more interesting. So what do you do, if anything, on top of everything else?
  8. I remember back in the day when I first started breaking out..."it'll go away when you're an adult" they said....21 now and it's still here. When I have money I have a prescription for 333mg Erythromycin 3x a day. It's annoying to get into the swing of taking it so often but I swear in a week my face is almost completely clear. And I'm not risking any sort of kidney failure with Accutane
  9. Unless you have a very solid background in science I would not advise taking any of you're AP, biology, or chemistry classes online unless you live on the moon. There's just so much information being thrown at you and unless you've got a professor who replies to emails at least daily you're going to be left hanging with a lot of questions. If you have any english classes or if you're taking any sort of medical terminology class, those would be great to knock out online. But any hard science is going to be miserable online.
  10. Thank you all for the replies they were very helpful I guess what we wanna know is in the case that the pictures were found by a supervisor who took issue with them would they alone be grounds for being fired?
  11. Her name wouldn't come up in any search engine, the models on the suite use a pseudonym and it's not something she's put in her resume. I don't think it would be such a big deal except that the site is really popular and she's worried she'd be recognized by her face
  12. So I've got a friend who's thinking about nursing school but she has pictures that are posted on a soft core Mediaography site. The site owns several sets and policy is not to remove them completely, only restrict access to paying members only if you make the request. She's not ashamed of it at all in fact she's quite proud. She's a raging feminist :) though some people have tried to disagree in the past... Anyway she's a brilliant student and very professional but the pictures are out there and they are full nude. Will they be grounds for termination in potential nursing careers? Thanks for any info
