  1. I have a question related to this discussion thread. I hold a bachelor's degree already from a liberal arts college. I am applying for an ADN program. I would prefer to pursue a BSN, but it's just too competitve in Minneapolis for a decent school right now. SO, if I get my ADN--which will cost less, be less competitive for admission and take less time to do than a BSN--will my BA allow me to call myself a BSN "equivalent?" See what I mean? How would I bill myself? Would my BA in theater at least get me a little something somewhere?
  2. Thanks to both of you for the good vibes. I'll post when I find out if I've been accepted. I am surprised to hear they are sending the decision letters out early this year. My friend in the program said she got hers mid-June. Well, no point in trying to guess. I'll know when I know. Thanks again.
  3. That's great news for you both. I have not received a letter yet so don't know what that means. Good luck to you!
  4. Great info...thanks for sharing. I'm trying to talk as many folks as possible--students, applicants, working nurses to get some well-rounded advice. Did you apply to St. Kate's as well?
  5. Hi there. I have applied as well for admission to the Fall 2011 cohort. I just met with a friend who is finishing up the post bacc BSN at St. Kate's in December and she has mostly good things to say. Very intense workload though, and she says it's wayyy more than evenings and weekends in terms of commitment. I am anxious to hear, mostly because my GPA meets the minimum requirements but that's about it. Like my essay though. Good luck to you...
  6. As a second career, I am applying to nursing school from scratch...no prereqs done yet and only appying to St. Kate's post bacc BSN so far (I already have a BA in an unrelated field). Any current students or recent grads with suggestions on a plan B if I don't get into Saint Kate's? What route would you recommend for starting prereqs? How do you approach prereqs when all schools require slightly different courses? Should I pick one school, take my prereqs there in anticipation of applying to THAT school when they are complete? Should I get a CNA now? It feels a little daunting to tackle it all...
