  1. I've been volunteering since in nursing school. Trying to network, and majority ask for the same thing, experience. The volunteer work that I do does not let me near bedside care. I was not aware though that I could apply for CNA jobs with a RN license. I have a BSN, and have looked into almost every hospital in Florida. My minimum experience has come from home health, but still hospitals do not consider this experience, well at least in Florida they don't.
  2. I have been working in home health. In my opinion it's more challenging at times than acute care settings, but yet they don't consider it as real experience.

  4. It has been almost two years since I've graduated from nursing school and still have not landed a job in a acute care setting. I have applied everywhere in the state of Florida. I've couple people coach me on my résumé and cover letter and still nothing. I've gotten few phone interviews but never a face-to-face interview. I've been depress, sad, angry all at once and especially confused. I've tried going to the hospitals meeting with the nurse recruiter, I've even went ahead and met with the nurse managers on the floor and still nothing. I don't know what else to do. With my financial situation at a stand still it will be difficult to move out of state. Any suggestions anyone
  5. I am also having problems figuring out how to calculate I&O's. I did a problm which I thought I was right, but it said I was wrond. Here's the problem: The physician orders 2L to be instilled with a dwell time of 40 mins. The nurse measures outflow and finds it to be 1800. During the nurse's shift, the client drinks 700mL and voids 400mL. Record the client intake in mL. Thank you in advance for your help.
  6. Hello Preeps. I am really wanting a change. I am from miami, and just want to start my nursing career somewhere different. I have done my research and believe FH would be a good place to start. What advice can you give me as far as application wise, and if I get a call for an interview, and also FH work system? Thank you
  7. Thank you Preeps for the quick reply....are you an employee at FH?
  8. Hi Molly-FLHospital, I am from miami, and soon to graduate with my BSN. I would very much like to relocate to Orlando. I have been to Florida Hospital once in East Orlando, and love have friendly everyone is. I wanted to know, would I have more chances of getting hired if I went to the Hospital of my choice directly and apply, or applying online. Thank you for your time
  9. Hi Kartia, Would you by chance be able to tell me what the average pay at Florida Hospital?
  10. Hello Everyone, I am soon to be a new graduate with my BSN in May 2011, and I was very interested in applying to Florida Hospital. I admire what they stand for, and also the staff that I have encountered are all polite. My question to everyone or anyone who can answer please, would it be best for me to go to the hospital personally and apply, or take my chances with the online application?
