  1. Actually I know someone who specializes in recruitment of Canadians. If you would like her contact information I can provide it, or if you would like her to contact you I can give her your information. If you are interested let me know, she would be of great assistance to you and nothing lost on your side.
  2. Well, I know at our hospital in California they employ student nurses and actually make the transition for us easy. Most of the nurses know the Directors and know where they will be placed before graduation ever approaches. I would get in with a hospital when you can. It is never too early to market. Vick
  3. Well, there have been a ton of changes recently with the requirements of the visa screen. I know quite a few Canadian nurses who in the last month really put it in first gear to get across the border. The last day to cross without one was the 24th of July. Are you currently employed in the States? I believe you will have to go through some hoops in order to stay. We have about 15 Canadian RNs employed in our hospital, maybe they can help??? Good luck. Vick
  4. I live in California and here it is almost a definete you will have a job once you have passed boards! Strikes me odd that it is any different in Alabama???? The hospitals here will even hire in specialty units and trian you. I can not wait!! I have also heard of other states and hospitals that hire new grads. Are you in a small area or have you looked at only a few places? Vick
