Hey does anybody know exactly when this program is completed?

Hey, I choose "Issues in Women Health" for a couple of reasons. My concerns in women's healthcare and the cost of the books. I was going to go with informatics, but the book fee is crazy.

Ok, guys it is almost time for us to get started...I wasn't expecting my first semester bill to be so expensive, oh well; let's do this. Has any one acquired any books yet.

Is there anyone out there that has recently taken the Texas Tech online program, I'm just wondering how the program works. I will start in January.

Yay congrats.. I have to take stats 1342 the first summer session and I will be applying to Texas Tech RN-BSN online program that will start January 2014 and finishes in May 2014. Good luck.

I did have access to kaplan and I went back and forth. I only paid for Hurst.

Hi, I just took my boards on Monday the 29th and I am a graduate of Lamar State Port Arthur. My BFF took hers about three weeks ago and passed. There is another friend and co-worker that is in that last set of clinical. Lamar is real. Good luck to all. Katana600, RN

Ok, today is May 1, 2013 and I could not wait until the 2nd for Texas Board posting. I paid the $7.95 to get the early results and YES, I did pass. The PVT did work for me, but it wasn't real to me until I saw the word "PASS". I passed my state boards for Texas. I got 75 questions, it's a wrap for me. So happy.

I took boards today for Texas, really during the test it was a small percent that I knew hands down. I got the least number; 75. I was really hoping for more. I had no calculations and 11 SATA, several who should the nurse see first. I tried the PVT and I got the pop up, the alleged "good pop-up". It will not allow me to register again. I hope this is a good sign. Texas only post on Tuesday and Thursday. Today is Monday and it takes 48hrs for results; so I either pay the $7.95 or wait until Thursday:nailbiting:

Ok, Lamar students. I am currently getting ready to start my 2nd set of clinical. Yes I passed the first one. So I have already started studying for boards. The NCLEX questions that you will have to do eventually during the program is somewhat helpful. However I highly highly recommend that you purchase the KAPLAN NCLEX-RN study and review book. Do this while you are currently taking your regular classes and you will have a better insight on how to answer the test questions. If I had read this first, I would not have struggled like I did in the beginning. You must read it, don't just skim, I mean really read it. I got the book on Amazon for a reasonable price. I just decided to go ahead and start preparing myself, only if I had known sooner. Give it a try. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Most of the time it's the answer you would not select. Always pay attention to the boxed information and info about the races. Such as which ethnic group is htn most prevalent in, which group ethnically is the heaviest drinker, etc they love ??? like that.

I recommend that you find a partner to study with. Exchange phone numbers if you guys aren't local to each other. Those questions are very tricky and it seems like the most obvious answer is the answer. That is so wrong. Most times it's like the one you would not even pick. Let me know how you on your test.

ETMC-Tyler I'm clinical now.

I just finished 2535, and I started clinicals this week. Yes it is a lot of work, but honestly to me it is still better than going sitting in classroom and having to work around school hours. Not to mention when you are in a traditional program clinical is every semester. These clinicals are isolated to just 10 weeks. You will have to change the way think when answering questions. I did struggle for awhile until I started reading the question to it's fullest and reading it carefully. I do think it very possible to complete the program I am almost there. You do have to put in the time and work on your assignments and don't wait till the last minute. It does help if someone else is also doing the program at the same time for studying purposes. Go for it.

My employer is partnered with Lamar, but it is for employees only. I work for one of the local hospitals in Tyler. Currently there is 4 of us doing the Lamar program, 3 of us will finish together and the other one is just a few weeks behind.

Ok, I just finished 2535 and getting ready to start clinical on Aug 6. I must say there has been a couple bumps throughout, but I made it to clinical. So, two sets of clinical then the last two classes. I will tell you the required NCLEX gets harder every time you do them. Good luck to all. Katana600
