Montefiore in the Bronx
Jazzy, I'm sorry that you've had that experience with some of the nursing staff. But that does not apply to all of us. I work hard everyday I work to the point where I do not take my breaks during my 12 hr shift let alone sit sometimes..Not all of us are the same. Monte is a good hospital to work in and if you start in med-surg, your set to work in any other job as hard as it might be during the time you are there.

Second part-time job for new grad?
Wish I knew your outcome!! I am going through the same thing right now...

What hospital would you recommend for a graduate nurse?
DoGoodThenGo is right. I graduated last May with a BSN from a reputable college with a GPA of 3.6 along with volunteer work, etc. I may have just landed a job (still waiting for a confirmation) and it's been a long time since I graduated. It is all about connections and like you are doing..starting your search early on. Apply everywhere and get back in touch with your clinical instructors..everyone is asking for letters of recommendation, transcripts..the works. Good luck.

@waitingRN. Thanks, I have no experience, but I know someone in the hospital and I did a good amount of my clinicals there. @Libra.rn..I think they only hire BSN now. I know some nurses that were hired with ADN back a few years ago..you should call the HR department and verify just to be safe..

St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital
Hi limberick1913. Congrats on the job! and thank you for providing us with that information. Recently I've been going around hospitals handing in my resume and cover letter in person. I was wondering if you knew if Luke-Roosevelt had an HR department or if only used Continuum Health Partners as their hiring resource. I am also confused about Luke-Roosevelt..are they two separate hospitals? And last question, during the open interview are there only Luke-Roosevelt employers, or are there also employers from other hospitals from Continuum Health Partners system such as Beth-Israel and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary? Thank you once again for answering our questions.

St. Luke's - Roosevelt Pharmacology Exam
Goodluck on the test! How did you go about applying? Are you new grad or did you already have experience?

Anybody working or has interviewed for St. Barnabas in the Bronx?? HELP!!
Khrissi17 and Nurse Cruz-Perez, how did you guys apply? They don't seem to show any nurse positions on the hospital site. I am happy you both landed a job, it gives me hope.....congrats and I hope you guys love it :)

What hospital's are actively hiring?
I'm been applying endlessly since I graduated in May. Do any employed RN's out there know of hospitals in the NY area- Westchester, Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, who are seriously considering hiring new nurses? So I can at least personally deliver or email them my resume. It feels like when I fill out applications online I instantly get denied because of my lack of experience.. Any feedback would be great. Thank you.

1199SEIU Interview
My father is part of the 1199 union. Maybe I can try to get an interview with them. Did they offer you any positions after you passed the exam. I would love to hear back from you, I have not had luck finding a job let alone an interview.

Can't find a job
In reference to the NYU residency program what do you mean by "a panel interview if you are selected with a case study specific to disease and drugs" ?
