Does it matter where you go for Nursing School?
believe me...its the NCLEX result that counts in the long run. All schools aim to get their students to ace the NCLEX. Once you are licensed, no one will care about GPA or where your BSN, Diploma or ADN is from. WE all take the same exam to achieve the same licenses.

New grad rn :( I wanna cry
Why not think about moving out of NY if you can? Try CT because the job market is not so bad here.

Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012
OK...I see everyone is waiting. I don't mean to be a party pooper but I am a realist. Please be prepared for anything. Truth is last year I swore I got in because I had great stats only to be placed 21st on the GWCC waitlist. I was devastated for days. I was so depressed that I decided I was giving up on the nursing. Had I have a different mind set, the rejection would not have hit me so hard. I sincerely hope we all get positive letters but if you dont. It's not the end of the word. Open your mail boxes today with an open mind. If it's not what you expected, cry if you must but DONT give up. Its going to hurt more because you are watching the mail box. For those of us who might hear what we want, please remember not to gloat when and we if we do. Be cognizant of the feelings of those will hear no. Once again good luck to everyone today and may your dreams become realities.

Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012
I know Bridgeport Hospital did there acceptance already. I got accepted but im not sure whats up with Gateway. Some people got waitlisted and some did not get a reply yet. Last year when I applied I got my waitlist online early but my friends who got in saw nothing. In fact all those you got waitlisted could see it online but the ones who got accepted did not.

Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012
Hey guys last year this time I was sitting around my dining table bawling when I opened the page and got wait-listed for Gateway. I thought it was unfair as so many people that I helped with their A&P got in and I didn't. There were 5 persons in my study group and I was the only one who did not get accepted. I was number 21 on the wait-list. This year I did not put all my eggs in one basket and within four weeks of applying to Bridgeport, I got an acceptance letter. I still applied to Gateway and have checked my page and there is nothing on it about accepted or wait-listed. Frankly, now I don't feel bad because sometimes we want something so bad but God may not feel its the right time. So for those of you who did not get in, there is always next year. This might just not be your year but like me, yours will come. Cheer up, toughen up and full speed ahead. Do your other courses while you wait until next year. I know your pain, I felt your pain and that's why I can say - there is always next year. Congrats to those who got in, work hard and remember many other deserving people could have done well with our spaces, so we shouldn't waste it.

BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2012
I was contemplating taking the course too but then there are other more important things like doing the CPR course with Red Cross that i am almost sure we are going to need. I know that it was a requirement to do the CPR. OK...so i'm super excited and I am wondering if I am weird but I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy want o get another letter with date for orientation, and uniform, and book, and lunch schedule, and....- lol. I'm an idiot I think, lol. By the way congrats to all those that got in and if you didn't get a letter yet, DO NOT give up. For those of us who made it, remember that this is just the first hurdle and the ones that are coming are going to be difficult to jump so I have started going over all my A&P and other related subjects while I wait.

BHSN-Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Fall 2011
You should really apply to another school. Gateway and some of the other community colleges application deadline have not yet passed. I also applied to Bridgeport's program. I got me letter of acceptance last week but maybe that was because I applied early so don't get discouraged if you have not yet heard from them. My stats. were: AP 1 = A AP 2 = A MicroB = A Public Speaking = A Chemistry = B English 102 = A GPA = 3.86 TEAS V = 75 Remember they take everything into account not just grades so chin up; be confident but cushion yourself by applying to other programs.

Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2012
I applied to gwcc last year and was wait listed. I was number in the 20s on the list and had a 3.6 gpa 79 in teas and A for AP1. This year I did TEAS 5. Horrible, horrible exam. I go A 75 AND im not doing it again. Don't just apply to the community colleges, try BHSN too. The CCN program are very difficult to get in.
