  1. Awesome! That can make a world of a difference. I'm so excited. I about cried when I got my nursing letter.
  2. Did you get your letter yet? Did you get in?? I got my letter today and I'm in for Fall 2014!
  3. Hey! That is awesome about the points. I hope we get in, and if not, at least be on that wait list. I just can't stand the anticipation!! I need to know!! The last two times I applied I got the letter around May 30- June 3. I just want to know. I've been waiting so long and trying so hard. You'll have to let me know if you end up getting in. That'd be awesome if we started the program together.
  4. I'm curious to know: the people who got accepted into Butler Community College's RN program, what were your points that you got in with? I'm trying to see an average for what they accept. If I added my points right, I have 162 out of a possible 190. The first time I applied I had a 146 and I did not get accepted. I raised it now so I am very hopeful. Thanks for your input!
  5. Hi, a few friends of mine in Butler's nursing program got it with all A's and maybe 1 B. Have you looked at their website in the nursing section? It tells you how the points are broken down to get into the program. i.e. A's = 4 points, B's=3, etc. So even though you have complete the other required courses, I don't know if that will take precedence over all the B's you have. It might be worth it to retake what you can in the spring time to get A's so in May when you apply, you have a great chance rather than just an okay chance. I heard last semester there were about 355 people or so that applied and 54 get in. I'm working on my pre=reqs right now, trying to get an A in A&P. Going to apply in May.
  6. We are Army too, living in Kansas. I am from California as well. I took a bunch of my undergrad courses in California and most of them transferred to the community college I am going to here for my ASN. The guidance counselor you talked to, I don't know what she was thinking but I would definitely not worry. As long as it was an accredited school nor technical school, most of your credits should transfer.
  7. I went to pacific college in costa Mesa. 12 month lvn program. Staff is great, instructors are great. It's a small school, but very professional and good reputation. I did the full time program m-f but they have part time which is in evenings and weekends. They start preparing students for the nclex from day one using the latest ATI study program. It helped a TON. Tuition is $28500 but it's a good program.
  8. Bobbij, what were your grades in the prereqs?
  9. Those of you who have gotten accepted into the nursing program, what were your grades on the prereqs and score on TEAS? I'm just wondering if it's absolutely necessary to get A's or if a B will lower your chances since it's so competitive. Same with the TEAS. Wondering what the average score is of students who get into the program. Still working on my pre-reqs. Have to wait for the May '13 deadline to apply for Fall '13 program. I have a B in Eng 101 and A in Eng 102 (even though I know they wont count that into accepting me), but I'm going to retake it for an A just to make sure I'm doing everything I can to get in.
  10. Hi, I heard they let people know around 6 weeks before the start. So you still have some time not to worry.
  11. Hi all, I can only find old posts on what the current wait list time is, but can I have some current feedback on how long you waited to get into the nursing program at either Butler Community College in El Dorado, Wichita State, or Pratt Comm College? When you applied for the nursing programs, what was your average wait time until you got accepted into that program? I am moving to Wichita area soon, but now I live in S. California and the wait lists are 2-3 years!! It's insane. I do not want to wait that long.
