Absolutely not. It's my passion, but pretty much modern day slavery. No respect. Crap opportunities. Low pay for what we do. Nursing is pathetic these days.

Hun, I'm not trying to be a downer either. I would reconsider. Take a job at Starbucks, or anywhere, before you risk your hard earned license. A paycheck is all that matters right now!

Has anyone on this thread been hired since you originally posted?

I also think it's hilarious how nurses in denial are so quick to get defensive. It's just an opinion. If the field is so grand, you won't get bent out of shape.

I think it's funny with pre-nursing students or newbie nurses think this field will be better for them.

Nursing isn't profitable for what you put in. I live in D.C. and they offer $30. Disgusting!

Have you not done your research on nursing? BSN grads cannot even land a job.

FYI, I have applied at around 200 places....received 3 interviews. None have called me back. I often wonder if something is wrong with me.

I found this thread via Google and I just had to sign up on allnurses.com to comment on it. I just wanted to say that you guys are not alone. Most nurses that I know (experienced or not) are going through this.
