If Frontier does not work out, have you looked into University of Cincinnati? I applied there and got accepted but ultimately chose Frontier.

I am CNM 178, was waitlisted at first then accepted. I was at Frontier Bound this week. My GPA was not that great. I only had a 3.1 gpa, but almost 7 years L&D experience and amazing reference forms, and I think a great essay. I have several certifications. I was somewhat shocked when I was waitlisted because I know my experience and resume was amazing so I think if I applied in a less competitive term I would have got in with the first group and not waitlisted. Also, I know my low gpa was a factor. There was a girl with a 4.0 gpa but did not have any L&D or OB related experience, and no certifications that got in automatically. There was 3 WHNP at bound this week and 1 switched over to CNM. You only want to be WHNP? You have no interest in ever delivering babies? Where do you work, what is your experience?

I applied for CNM class 176. They waitlisted me for class 178 instead. On July 3rd I recieved acceptance email!

About 3 weeks ago I received an email for acceptance off of the waitlist!!! So excited to be starting CNM class 178. Have any of you that were waitlisted been accepted off the waitlist?

Wow, 600 is a lot! I like the second option better. I am sure you should here from UC by then.

Will the other school let you defer until the next semester? I did that with one of my schools. I deferred until Spring, so it would give me time to hear back from UC and Frontier. I did have to pay the other school $200, but I just did it because I truly didn't want to lose a seat in another program. I later found out UC and Frontier accepted me for Fall. So yes, I lost $200 in the process, but that's how I dealt with that situation.

Thank you! I did not have an interview. I am doing the online CNM program. There is no interview for admission into the online CNM program. On the same day my NursingCas application changed to verified status was the same day I paid the $65 UC application fee. Exactly 10 days after that is when I find out I was accepted.

I found out today that I was accepted to the CNM program for Fall! I am excited. I also applied to Frontier, but was placed on the waitlist. According to the website, it says there are 2 on campus visits for UC. Does anyone know exactly when the first campus visit is?

No did not get that email. My physical assessment is only 6 years old though. My statistics I am almost sure I will have to take over. It's a little over 10 years old but they have not emailed me about it yet.

Same here. My gpa is not that great, but I figured it was worth a shot. I am nervous too. I was shocked when they extended the deadline. I am guessing that means not enough applicants applied initially by the first deadline. I submitted my application a week ago. As of today, I am still waiting for my references to submit their recommendation letters. The quicker they do that, the quicker I can get a response. I applied to Frontier also.

We will not hear back until mid to late June, no later July 1st. It's usually 6 to 8 weeks before Frontier Bound that they start sending out admissions decisions. I know this because I am in the Facebook group Frontier Nursing University Hopefuls and it was mentioned there. If you are not already in that FB group, you should join! Always great info in there.

I was accepted for Fall. However, I asked if my admission could get deferred until Winter term. They said yes. So I am now starting in January. I hope everyone enjoys this Fall term.

Depends on where you live. I have heard so many people from all over the country say that it is difficult getting into L&D. However, I am in Miami, FL and was hired into L&D with an ASN straight out of nursing school. I have been at the same job for over 6 years now. There have been several new grads with ASNs and BSNs that have been hired after me in L&D, also with no experience. So for Miami, no it is not hard getting in L&D, in fact it is quite easy. If you were in Miami my director and manager would love to hire you with all of your doula experience. So like I said I think it has to do with the area you live in. However, my personal opinion is that your doula experience should give you extra points when it comes to getting hired. if I was in charge of hiring and someone said they have doula experience and they plan on becoming a CNM, I would hire them because that lets me know you are passionate about this and will be a great nurse and great asset to my unit.

Good! It was my first time ever going to the Palm Beach Campus so I was surprised that it was only just a one 4-story building, and not a huge campus. I live down in Miami so it took me 1 hour and 20 min to drive there. They said there is a large number of students from Miami so usually after students get to know each other and become friends, many students decide to carpool from Miami. So I am happy to know that is an option. I had already started looking into the possibility of taking the Tri-Rail to Palm Beach, but the tri-rail station is far from the school so I would still end up having to take 2 buses from the tri-rail station to the school. They said if they get enough students who express interest then they may be able to get a shuttle that goes from the train station to the school. They gave me a tour of the building. They were very friendly and welcoming. I was very impressed. It is exactly what I am looking for in a hybrid program. Many of my coworkers decided to do online FNP programs like Chamberlain, but that is not for me. I need to physically be in class as often as possible and have face-to-face interaction. I learn better that way. At the open house today they showed me the classrooms, the simulation lab, computer lab, the exam rooms that are set up like an actual doctors office for us. They said they will have real live patients for us to practice on. There are private study rooms for small groups, a lounge area with microwave, fridge, and snack machines, a relaxation room with a massage chair, a recreation room with a pool table, a gym and men/women showers so you can take a shower after using the gym. You can have books from the big library at the Ft. Lauderdale/Davie campus sent to the PBG campus for you so you can pick them up there. My visit today made me even more excited about going there.

Anyone going to the Open House today at the Palm Beach Campus? I will be going. Excited to see the campus and meet the program director and faculty. Maybe I will meet some of you.

Hi everyone! I applied for class 176 CNM. Overnighted my application packet via FedEx on Monday and according to tracking number it arrived there today the 8th. Just in time for the May 9th deadline. Whew! Now the waiting begins. I plan on applying to UC also.

Congrats!!! That's so exciting! In the email did it say how long you have until you have to confirm with them that you will indeed be attending?

Oh sorry. I was incorrect with my last post. The CNM program has 2 campus visits. I just realized you were referring to the WHNP program which doesn't have any campus visits.

With UC you also have to travel to Cincinnati once or twice during the program. It's online, but there is a campus visit involved.
