  1. I would also recommend checking out the SCHIMSS chapter, as well as ANIA. Both are great resources for networking and I am familiar with both.
  2. Have you considered wall mounted wireless pc's? I have some experience implementing tablet PC's, and would HIGHLY suggest piloting them and various units from differing vendors on a unit prior to any commitment. While they sound nice, they provide some interesting challenges and obstacles.
  3. Check out the ANIA-CARING 2012 Annual Conference in Orland Florida April 12-14, 2012 Check out http://www.ania-caring.org/ for more info or feel free to ask me any questions you might have!!
  4. I was wondering the same thing after looking at what they offer. While those certificates are nice, they seem more along the lines of a PC tech. Have you considered any other online programs?

  6. Congrats on considering informatics! I know many RN's with an associate degree who work and do quite well in informatics. I think the educational decision will have to be a personal choice of weighing your reasons for going back with your personal goals. I would think that it would not hurt your resume to have BSN on it. As far as entry level positions, look for informatics councils or super user groups within your organization. Additionally, I would recommend joining professional nursing groups for networking and job listings. ANIA-CARING, HIMSS, AHIMA, and AMIA all come to mind. Google them and see which would be a good fit.
