  1. Hi all: Perhaps I can give you some useful info: I am currently in the ABSN program at UCF Orlando. We were all notified as to the status of acceptance ( in, out, or waitlist) at the same time via email which came through around 6 pm on a Friday. Pretty much everyone who was waitlisted ended up getting in as so many applicants apply to multiple schools. Letters via mail arrived the following week. The waiting is agony - hang in there....
  2. Congratualtions - you need to join our facebook group: UCF Accelerated BSN - Class of 2012
  3. Hey - good for you! I take it you are part of the UCF facebook group - maybe you can keep us updated there too!
  4. Those accepted to UCF are given until March 18 to accept, and then again another required signing by April 1, so I would think there will be some waitlist activity after those 2 dates. As far as transferring credits, if the school is regionally accredited you can transfer credits. If it is nationally accredited you cannot.
  5. Hey Gatorgrad8 - did they tell you what number you are on the waitlist? I think quite a few applicants applied to multiple schools. Fingers crossed for you!
  6. No reason to not apply also for Spring!!
  7. What about the programs in Daytona and Cocoa - I think those are July 1 deadline - or is that for Spring admission?
  8. I believe fall admission deadline is July 1 - I would verify that with CON.
  9. Paco69 - I have the same FDLE in progress/background check - I think we are all pending that. I think the CON is more organized than the registrar's office. My degree is also from out of state - although as noted above, there are several classes still missing on my degree audit. For Gatorgrad8 - I understand your frustration at being waitlisted, though I suspect a good number on the waitlist end up getting in - I have fingers crossed for you. You asked for stats - I have an undergrad psychology degree with GPA 3.98, and prerequisite GPA of 4.0. Therefore, the way I "think" this works is I scored 39.8/40 points for undergrad, 40/40 points for prerequisite. I bombed the TEAS with an 80.7 which cost me 8 points and I ended with a total of 111.8/120. This was explained to me at UCF, but I was in crisis mode that day after working for such a banging GPA and then bombing the TEAS....
  10. UCF Hopeful - I also have a weird prerequisite comment - mine lists requirement of a C or better in general psychology - very strange - I have a degree in psychology with a GPA of 3.98. My degree audit is still not correct. I have been contacting the registrar's office, as well as CON contacting the registrar's office to no avail. Fortunately I was able to supply the CON with their own copy.
  11. I am in! Congrats to those who got in - my heart goes out to those who were not accepted this go around - I hope you are applying for the regular BSN.
  12. Two weeks - okay - not so bad!
  13. Time to kick back with a beverage *wine
  14. My contact at UCF today indicated March 1 was not likely
  15. So Paco69, I take it then that you will take UCF over SBU? What about UF?
  16. When I met with the academic coordinator/advisor a couple of weeks ago I asked how many viable/competitive candidates fail to petition the APG for out-of-state courses for course substitution (prereq) by the appropriate date. I was surprised to learn as many as 10-15. Imagine that - all that work and an omission in paying attention to the "submit by" date!
  17. They told me directly March 15, so we may as well sit back and relax - that is 3 weeks away. If we hear sooner, great. Rather than what they are looking for, it is a compilation of scores of GPA, prereq GPA and TEAS. All candidates get ranked - the top 60 get in.
  18. "Does anyone know the hospitals in the Orlando area that UCF contracts with for clinicals? Are Arnold Palmer and Winnie Palmer two of these sites for peds and OB respectively?" My SO did the ABSN and ARNP at UCF a few years ago - I remember he went to Arnold Palmer, I don't believe that Winnie was open then.
  19. I got the date of March 15 from the undergraduate academic coordinator/advisor. It would be nice to hear sooner, but I suspect the delay may be at least partly due to the registrar's office. This year UCF seems particularly backlogged in uploading transcripts. It is my understanding that there was a computer issue from one of the local community colleges regarding their students records - I think this backed up UCF for spring admission students, which probably means that summer admissions are also behind by domino effect - at least, that's my guess. I know I have had to make a couple of trips to UCF to sort out errors in my own transcripts - I can't be the only one.
  20. It is like waiting for Willie Wonka's Golden Ticket!
  21. I emailed UCF today and was told that the decision date for admission to the ABSN is March 15. Earlier I saw a post indicating that it was going to be March 1. Looks like things got pushed back a couple of weeks!
  22. To Paco69 - I am waiting for the decision for ABSN at UCF also. Today I was told that decision will not be out until March 15.
