  1. If you're working at Union Regional, then you're okay. There are a lot of suburban neighborhoods popping up all the way around Monroe (from the $100's to the $500's). Not much in the way of apartment living. Traffic isn't too bad inside Monroe itself, but good luck driving into Charlotte. As far as entertainment, I hope you like movies and biker bars. Otherwise, you'll have to go into Charlotte and ultimately that's just too much effort half the time. If you're working in Charlotte, do NOT move to Monroe. I've lived in Monroe for two years and I go to nursing school in charlotte (& my wife works in Pineville). We're selling the house and moving closer since it takes us 25 minutes just to get to the I-485 beltline).

I'm a male nursing student and I think I first heard the term "murse" on the TV Show "Scrubs". I may have heard it before that, but can't remember when or where. I thought it was hilarious. The nursing profession has been, and still is a female dominated occupation, so to give notice to the fact that I am indeed not female in this profession seems very normal to me. Though I haven't heard it used in an intentionally derogatory manner, I guess I can picture it. But, anyone that would try to insult me with the title of murse (or in any other way for that matter) is a bumbling idiot with esteem issues.
