What do/did you say when...
I've been asked this question too many times and after a while I started doubting myself...my favorite person to ask me, and who did so with such a condescending tone, hadn't even graduated high school let alone do any vocational training in their life! Honestly, I felt like, "How dare YOU look at me and question me like that when you couldn't even finish high school!"

Full-time mom in VA Beach needs a school!
I had to respond - it's not often you meet other Marine wives in the Virginia Beach area - I'm assuming you are stationed at Camp Elmore? I lived in San Diego for 6 years (1992-1998). I think the advice others gave you - Old Dominion, TCC, et. al. are pretty good. Have you found a school yet?

California license plates
I lived in California for six years - military - and the cops were all too "out of state plate happy" - they tried to get me several times but because I'm a military dependent and my hubby's home state of record was elsewhere, they weren't successful. You don't have to get CA plates unless you are PERMANENTLY moving there to the land of fruits and nuts. Keep your tags registered and up to date in FL, obey the traffic laws and you should be fine.

White uniform dress common nowadays?
My $0.02: As a student, I have to wear all white scrubs, which I hate. They stain easily, no matter what you do, everyone can see your underwear, and to make it worse, my school requires that we wear a smock over the scrubs. This smock is blue and resembles the smocks you see WalMart employees wearing! If I had a dime for every WalMart comment I've heard, I wouldn't have to work!

Where are you?
i was assisting a patient into bed for her afternoon nap when her room mate became excited about the sound of helicopters flying over the facility. (i'm in virginia beach, va and majority of the atlantic fleet has returned home from deployment today). she said very haughtily, "that's my son-in-law. he must be back from flying the president around. they're going to land right over there..." and she pointed to the parking lot right outside the window. i just shook my head, smiled, and told her i was very happy for her. :chuckle

Where are you?
in the same ball park, i was asking a patient who had recently been admitted what brought her to the nursing home. without missing a beat, she hissed, "my daughter!" :imbar
