Online advanced Patho or Pharmacology courses?
you know i ended up withdrawing from the class before it began to focus on my online biochem through Univ of Wisconsin. I did manage to get my paws on the syllabus and see that the course is using a classic text "pathophysiology:the biologic basis for disease in adults and children". I already owned this book from when I took this course years ago so I feel that i could do well as I am familiar with the text. thats my 2 cents.

Someone from St. Mary's University of MN?
Skip. It sounds like you went through a lot with that program. I am sorry to hear that you did not finish? If you don't mind me asking what do you think contributed to you not finishing? Thanks for your insight.

St. Mary's University of Minnesota CRNA Interview
i just have to post an update here. I was rejected outright from St. Mary's this April but enthusiastically invited for interviews at Duke and Samuel Merritt, schools ranked higher. I still am scratching my head at this one.... I asked the St. Marys director why I wasnt invited and it seemed like she was stuck on some withdrawn course from 10 years ago and didn't like that my science was taken at a community college. BTW, community colleges in CA are viewed as direct equivalency to UC courses where I live. This seems like rather old fashioned thinking to me. But everyone has their own process and I respect her decision. In the long run the program wasnt for me. Hope everyone's admissions process is going well! just thought I'd share my exp. and give hope to other people who got rejected from St. Mary's. :redbeathe

Reasons NOT to be CRNA
I know this post was several years ago but I want to tell you that as a new grad in the ICU in 2008 I made 99,000 in the bay area. the next year in the icu I made 128,000 working OT maybe once a month. So actually your numbers are way off.

St. Mary's University of Minnesota CRNA Interview
Hey dont feel bad. i got mine too. Minnesota is too cold anyway!! Forget that place. i have CCRN, TNCC, nearly four years critical care experience and i graduated magna cum laude from nursing school... and rejected. some people will just not accept you no matter how hard you try. I have to believe this wasn't about me at all but some intangible quality there are looking for that I can't meet and it will suite me best to move on rather than waste anymore time. I do think my essay was weak and i have a prior degree in anthropology( i have a BA in anthropology and BSN in nursing) which as a catholic university might not be that appealing. I also had a 3.2 in my first degree with some holes in it. The advice I would give myself is to take some higher level:nurse: science courses and apply again. But by the time I finish all of those fluff courses to make myself look good for applying, I could have just completed all my premed courses..which I am seriously considering at this point. AFter being in nursing for almost four years I see not only how badly nurses are treated by other people but worse how badly nurses treat each other and I think i have had enough. I will wait to see the results of the rest of my applications and re-evaluate. I consider this to be a blessing disguise. DON"T feel bad.
