  1. I think my best(or maybe worst really) was the 18 yo that came in crying hysterically that she had killed her baby. Upon questioning we discovered that seh had gone swimming that day and her S/O's mother told her that she had drowned her baby because she had gone swimming...Just had to shake my head and give the girl a lesson on the whole process...After Visteril to settle her down!
  2. All I can say is WOW. Lucky babe and Mom. Glad they had a good outcome.
  3. I am salaried and get milage. Starting at our hopsice for RN is 40K. plus milage(.40/mile) , and $50 fer admit. We also get referal bonus of $25 per pt we refer and admit. It's pretty good for our area in Alabama. I know we make a good deal more than other local hopice agencies. Plus I have a AWESOME company. :) HTH! Steph
  4. I am currently working home health and our agency is asking if I will take this test to become certified. We need at least one nurse certified so we can admit psych pt's. Is the test hard? Does it really mean anything in the job field? I LOVED psych in nursing school, but loved OB a little more. thanks in advance. Steph
  5. 1. Fresh Mosquito bite by ambulance(mom thought the child got West Nile) 2. Sunburn( yes it had been quite a bad sunburn....TWO WEEKS BEFORE) 3. Adult "toy" in an oriface and still running like the energizer bunny 4. 11 y/o that whooped up on three big male nurses for a scratch on her leg. MOM was acting like the child had amputated her leg. Had AT LEAST a whole roll of kerlix on it. Found out the wound was three days old an she needed LORTAB for it Tons more but those are some of the better ones Steph
