You apply just as you would when applying for AAS in Nursing/RN program in the MCCD. It is one of the options for program choices. I think it is summers off - 4 semesters = 2 years. Usually 2 nights/week and a clinical all day Friday or Saturday, is what I was told. If I am not 100% accurate or something has changed, I apologize.

It is a 2-year RN (AAS Nursing).

So, at least I know I will be sitting tight and just a-waitin'. Such is life, huh? Alas, great things are worth waiting for, so I will keep studying, finishing my co-requisites and maybe get an AAS in Nutrition or something while I am waiting. May be a good way to spend my time. I could also continue to keep up on NCLEX questions or study ahead somehow. Just trying to stay positive. I know my journey will be a long one, so I may as well enjoy it and be patient.

Thanks for the information! I pretty much expect to wait, so I am just trying to be patient. It at least is teaching me to just go with it and wait it out. In due time, things will come :)

Good day, all. This thread has been a real help! thank you. I, too, am on waiting list for GWCC part-time program. I have to work full-time and this is my only option available. I am hoping that most who are planning on concurrent program are pretty much opting for FT program.. I understand that you can only be in a full-time cohort to be eligible for the CEP anyway, so maybe that is a blessing to be waiting for the part-time gig. Good luck, all!

Thank you for replying. I am in a position where I cannot really cut my work hours without going down to a part-time status. I guess I will cross that bridge when it comes. I do not have kids, so that is one thing I would not have to worry about. My husband is SUPER supportive and picks up a LOT of the slack with my current overtime, standby, school and volunteering. I am saying lots of prayers to keep me strong. :)

Has anyone gone through or do you know anyone who has gone through the Gateway part-time RN program while working a full-time job? I was praying and planning on trying the scholarship, quit my full-time job, attend CGCC or MCC and live on retirement funds while not working, but that scares the heck out of me. I have a good income where I currently work with overtime, but we have been losing pay to furloughs the last two years and I should mention that I am SO ready for a career change, which is why I am pursuing nursing. I really do not want to add financial strain to the stress of going to nursing school. I have heard good things about Gateway CC and obviously, people make it happen while working full-time. Your thoughts??
