  1. larack- Congratulations on starting nursing school! Please feel free to post an update (as well as anyone else who is doing the same thing) about what the workload is like with both school and work. I appreciate all the information and input posted, and good luck to all! Future-AZ-Nurse
  2. Congratulations on your acceptance!
  3. Thanks for all of your suggestions I will definitely take your advice. I'm going to apply for the RN program at Gateway CC and the Banner Nurse Fellows Program. Have you applied to a program or have you been accepted into a program?
  4. This is where I found out about the part-time BNFP at Gateway... http://www.gatewaycc.edu/Programs/BannerNursingFellows/ I was so happy when I found out they had a part-time program...I hope this helps! :[anb]:
  5. What did you use to study for it? what were you results (if you don't mind sharing)? I haven't taken it yet but I will soon so I want to find books or study guides that will help me. Thanks! :smilecoffeeIlovecof
  6. Congratulations on getting into the Banner Nurse Fellows Program! I plan on applying as soon as I finish with my pre-reqs. I too want to get into the part-time program, I don't have kids or a husband (don't plan to anytime soon either) but I do work full-time and may need to work full-time during nursing school...hopefully it can work out for me, if not than maybe I can work part-time. Any tips on getting into the program? Do you think volunteering at Banner would help? :[anb]:
  7. Is there a book to study before the interview? If so, where can you get it? I haven't applied for the program yet but I'm researching this thread to prepare myself for what's ahead so if my question sounds weird I apologize. Thanks!!
  8. They are pre-reqs for the RN program.
  9. NUR158 is not a pre-req to apply, these are the pre-reqs listed on the application: CHM130+CHM130LL BIO156 or 181 BIO201 PSY101 MAT 120, 121, or 122
  10. i have to admit it, i get a little lightheaded around needles but i don't want this to get in the way of becoming a nurse. it is probably one of the simplest tasks a nurse can do but its one of the scariest to me. is there anyone else that gets the same way?? how were you able to overcome this and give shots/iv's?? what was your first experience like??
  11. does anyone have a weak stomache? if so, how did you get over it or deal with it during clinicals? is it something you overcome over time?
  12. What is the schedule like for the Gateway Part-Time Nursing Program? Does anyone work full-time?
  13. how did you know that being a nurse was your calling? or what did you experience that led you to the profession? just curious...
