  1. Ask any questions you want! I had a lot of questions when I was in the process of applying and I wish I had someone to answer them! I am not in the accelerated program, I am in the generic program. I applied with a 3.6 GPA and I had an NLN score of 133. I studied on and off for 3-4 months but I really cramed down in the last week before the exam. I lived in that NLN book for the entire week and it really helped. Are you planning on applying to the generic or accelerated program?
  2. Good luck! Study from the book and try to master the math section!!
  3. Hunter required you to have a minimum of i believe a 3.0 before applying into the program. have you taken all of your prerequisite classes? You would need to raise your GPA to at least a 3.0 before applying to Hunter but it is still very competitive to get into.
  4. what college did you end up going to?
  5. Hey Christina! I am not in the same boat as you-a little bit up ahead! I am currently in the actual nursing program at Hunter. Let me tell you it is VERY tough! Do you have all of your other prerequisites fulfilled? How is your GPA? Study really hard for the NLN especially out of that little red book that they sell. Good luck!
  6. I am currently a nursing student at hunter finishing up my first semester. I was accepted into the program with a 3.6 GPA and an NLN score of 133. These are the only two things that administration looks at when considering you for the program. It was very hard to get into the program bu I can honestly say it has been so worth it. I took all of my prerequisites at hunter and I don't regret it because it definitely prepared me for the workload I have now. Good luck =)
  7. Hey Kika I know this reply may be a little late considering when you posted this thread. I currently attend Hunter's nursing program and I am finishing up my first semester. I took ALL of my prerequisites at hunter and i do not regret it a single bit. The classes are extremely tough and make you work for your grade. Some professors are better than others. But when it comes down to it you really need to realize what is going on-these professors are not there to spoon feed you the answers. You need to take the initiative and learn the material yourself. All the prerequisites prepared me for the amount of work the nursing program is itself. If you take the easy route now, you won't be able to face the hard work later. The nursing program is beyond worth it once you are accepted. I suggest you transfer out of NYU and apply for Hunter!! You will not be disappointed! Don't listen to all the myths about the GPA. I know many people in my program that have 3.2-3.4 and they were accepted because they did well on the NLN. Good luck!
