Hi Frankiedarling, Your HESI is good enough for UTA, they just want a passing score. If I were you I would a) try to get a job with a partner hospital (this will greatly increase your chances) or b) keep retaking the science courses to get the science gpa as close to a 4.0 as you can. It may take more than one try but you can definitely do this! I would apply now, but know that it may take more than one try. Many in the program got in on their 2nd or 3rd try. Good Luck!

Have you looked at TCU? They are crazy expensive too, but it sounds like they have a great program. I looked at Baylor, TCU and UTA. The reason UTA appealed to me is that it is online except for your clinicals and I have small(well, medium :) ) children. There are lots of good programs in the area. Good luck!

It actually stands for academic partnership. You are partnered with a hospital and do most of your clinicals there. It is 18 months for a BSN. 6 months more months than Baylor and many tens of thousands less dollars. It is a great program.

We do 2 10-12 hour clinical days a week. I would say I study at least 20 hours on top of that. It is a very intense program from day one! That being said, I love it. My kids are older- seven and ten. I don't know if I could have done it when they were smaller but there are plenty of people in my cohort with little ones. Also, the program is fast- 18 months and you are a BSN. I am in my second semester. Good luck to both of you.

They did take my pharm and patho. They will not take the 2 hour courses but did take the 3 hour nursing courses. I'm in the AP as well. It is very busy but very doable. The program has far exceeded my expectations. Don't let yourself get behind and you will do great. I have 2 children and was able to work about 15 hrs a week and keep up with my studies. Not much free time though. Good luck!

I took all of my prereqs at DCCCD. The only course I took at UTA was the intro to nursing. I did have a 4.0 in my sciences and was partnered.

I was admitted to the program with two prereqs left to take. They did not wait for my grades to post. I still had Chemistry and intro to nursing. I did not need these for the other programs I was looking at and did not want to take them unless I was accepted. Good luck!

Foxy12, I don't think people are saying you didn't deserve to get in. I think they are shocked, frustrated and disappointed for themselves. It is a very confusing application process. When I first applied to the pre nursing program the advisor told me I should be able to get in to the online program with a 3.0 science gpa and no partnership. I think they never dreamed they would have so many applicants. Congratulations on your acceptance!

I am so shocked that so many of you 4.0 people were wait listed for the on campus program. You guys must be at the top of the list for sure!

I totally understand MEGREEN I didn't even feel like typing it. So many got in last semester from the waiting list. Don't give up hope. I have a feeling we will be classmates! Baylor Science 4.0 Overall 3.5 ish not really sure
