  1. They seem to only hire out of their new to practice program.
  2. Boredom does crazy things to people iridium...crazy things
  3. Yeah, I think you have a really good shot at being placed where you want. From the people I have heard from in this group most people did.
  4. Yeah just to be sure. I wanted to give a solid "YES" but wouldn't until I knew I wasn't in maternity haha
  5. Yeah I was really nervous and emailed her once I was offered at another hospital. But Temple has been where I have wanted to be since leaving with my first degree from there. Good Luck?!? Which unit are you hoping to be on? ((I have a friend in Trauma Ortho and another in MRICU)
  6. Cardiac ICU my dream
  7. I was similar to Morningdew. By the way what unit have you been assigned to Morning?
  8. I just received a position after putting probably 400+ applications out there. I was rejected by my first two interviews. Say persistent, keep a wide search area.
  9. Cardiac, cardiac, cardiac :) and neuro is my second choice but my top three units were cardiac
  10. You too Morningdew. What units are you interested in?
  11. I have heard through the grapevine that they will reopen a N2P in September
  12. One interview with a panel. I had three two of which were nurse managers and the third for me was the director of the program. (Friends of mine had a different panel) You interview alone. When you come in to the HR office there are several applicants and they bring you back one at a time (I went to the 7th floor immediately but a friend of mine waited an hour-ish) The questions while I don't remember specifics were not difficult. Straight forward. They did a wonderful job at keeping my stress level down.
  13. MorningDew I was hired as well and also unaware of the unit. I did give my preference on units and said I would accept outside these (though not maternity its just not me!) I look forward to meeting yoU!
  14. Good Luck, I know they are hiring in two waves. Mid August and end of August so this makes sense!
  15. Also, just email her or call. The worst answer you can get is "no" but sometimes I think its better to have a piece of mind.
  16. I am hoping too. I emailed Terry after my interview asking when I should expect to hear back either positive or negative. She said "two weeks (hopefully sooner) be patient!". I don't know what that means though.
  17. I interviewed Monday as well with a Panel. It was in my opinion a great interview. And I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about the process thus far. I have dealt with various other hospitals which interviewed 5-6times the number of applicants that they were going to hire. I really hope I get it. I have wanted to work for Temple since I received my first degree from Temple. An odd thing I did notice (not bad but) that many of the candidates I was seated with prior to the interview were non-BSN students.
  18. Often times patients and insurance companies do NOT pay for the entire procedure. There is a "debate" between the hospital administration and the insurance company over how much an insurance company will actually cost. A patient without insurance can not be refused care, so often times if they are unable to pay they excessive costs of treatment the hospital must shoulder the costs. AMA...well there are different issues. You should just read a bit more on health care in general.
  19. Driver6- Niki is an awesome interviewer, she really puts you at ease. Have some questions to ask and just be yourself and confident. I think if you are passionate about it, it will shine through! Good Luck!
  20. I applied 2nd Round and interviewed on the 28th. I was accepted the 29th! I look forward to meeting everyone
  21. Hi! I applied for the second round of admissions. And have an interview set for Tuesday. As far as living in the city, if you have any questions as to where to live. What apartment companies not to use, and to use. I can help. Whether I am admitted to the program or not. I currently live near by campus, but out of the "center city" rep. I am really hoping to get into the program. And look forward to meeting some of you! Briana
