Maggots in wounds, and faeces from your knee's to your neck really gets to me!! And all the other nurses take a run from it, and leave u there to do it all by your self! while you have a pt vomiting up Charcol!!

We have lots of Spiders here Red Backs are great, even when you have your bra on the floor put it on the next morning and you get bitten by a Red Back Spider!! The pain is not good, but however they do not kill, lucky us.

Here in Australia we get different pay in all States, but in my state we get from first year to eight year a pay increase then it just stops there, you dont get any more for any area you work in. As for ALSC, TNCC u dont get any more pay. So for your whole career u stay at Year 8 pay!! No incentives to do anything else.

I had a Ed Consultant embrass me in a Recus, and now I just cant bring myself to talk to her, my boss just ignored the issue and let her get away with it, so much for support. Most of our Ed Dr's are great, and I do hate it when the good ones leave!!

When the pt at Triage says I have a bug in my ear, and u look and it is a HUGE COCKROACH!! ( I ran for my life !!) my pet hate is cockroaches he took it home in a jar for safe keeping to show is friends. You never have a good sleep, and your partner is always home alone as you are always on night shift!!

We have to do all shifts, Nights, Earlies, Late shift with no getting out of any of them and no choice on when we do them!!

How much air do u putt in the ETT cuff? say a size 7 Adult ETT. When the cuff says 30 on the air port??

I am new to this site, do you know what Warn to the left side means please??? What Hospital are u at??? We would never get 13 pts at once!! how can u handle that buy your self!!!

At my ED in Australia we do Obs at Triage, then 1/2hr on all pts in the Department, except for Recus which is usually 5mins or if stable 1/2hr. For lacerations or broken bones once only. It is really all common sence for the rest of stable pts. However, the CNC can get on our backs if they are not to her liking!!! Even when we are run off our feet short staffed.

My ED we use Chlorpromazine 12.5mg in 1lt of N/Saline over about 1hr. Sometimes we use also Toradol 10 or 30mg IM. Australia that is. We can tell the Drug seekers who come in with a so called Migraine. Close the room make it nice and dark and leave them alone helps also. leave me a message if u would like more info. Tks
