  1. Did any of you watch Boston Med? It depicted real doctors and nurses in the top three hospitals in Boston. I loved it, but I am just a student nurse so I can't comment on how much is accurately portrayed due to editing and such. It wasn't solely a "nurse" show, but nurses got about 40 to 50% of the show's focus vs. doctors. I mainly loved to watch for the cases that they showed. The season finale showed America's first facial transplant. It was amazing.
  2. I have to disagree. I am a "skinny" with not a lot of curves. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "real women have curves" and just have to grind my teeth not to reply. Don't get me started on the govt vs. personal responsibility.
  3. To the OP, I know this has been a difficult time for you, and I hope you keep your head up and do well with the rest of your time in nursing school. However, many programs have the same format and strict if not stricter requirements for passing med math. At some point you need to take responsibilty for your own actions and not immediately fault the program. I know it is difficult to do. I just recently failed my first exam...ever. Many of the students were complaining because the highest grade in our class was an 86 and many more failed than usual. We are so quick to point blame at anybody but ourselves. The reality is that it was a very difficult exam, BUT it was fair. If you enact change in your program then good for you, but just remember that sometimes we need to take accountability for ourselves and change what we do instead.
  4. But they aren't going to pay. Obamacare will increase enrollment in Medicaid which states are already struggling to fund. There will be an even bigger "free ride" mentality. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/mar/01/lamar-alexander/health-care-reform-expand-Medicaid-doctors/
  5. But they are not going to have to pay because the bill allows medicaid to be expanded to 40 million plus more people. We will be babying more people than ever before under the new bill.
  6. Congratulations! My daughter's name is Emma Rose. We originally were going to name her Ava, but I read Austen's Emma while I was pregnant and the name stuck.
  7. At my school, we signed a document stating we would not post ANY patient info on public forums whether it violated HIPPA or not.
