i've asked several prepaid stalls and they really do not have a prepaid card that is more than 100. 100pesos is barely 10 minutes. i think i will just load my globe 1000pesos and use regular load to call them...

how much is that? i need a card that is more than 100 pesos maybe i'll try skype too. but i still need to buy the headphone+mic...if i video chat with an AHPRA nurse then she will see my face lol!

i thought the REQUIRED visa for BP takers is the 456 and not the student visa? or it depends on the school...?

i suggest you complete your requirements before going to australia next month. that way your application fee will be cheaper and it will be easier for you to nag them about your status lol! all forms are in the AHPRA-nurse website. i'm not sure about your IELTS requirements though...

Hi! I'm a Filipino nurse. I just wanna know the present image of Filipino nurses in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand... based from related literature online, it seems that the younger generation of Filipino nurses abroad are considered inexperienced, unfamiliar with the latest hospital equipments, not fluent in English, and worse, falsifies documents I just wonder, is it really possible for a nurse (regardless of country of origin) without experience, doesn't know English, and with fake documents to be able to work in an English-speaking country? If yes, how? (just kidding lol!) How are nurses being treated abroad? Are they being racially discriminated or are their Filipino exotic beauty addictive to Caucasians? (please excuse the disturbing nature of the latter query) Are nurses in the above mentioned countries really filthy rich? [compared to doctors and lawyers in the Philippines (I know the comparison is inappropriate, but I used these professions to get a clearer picture of the buying power of nurses abroad)] Is it easy for Filipino nurses to get hired in hospitals/nursing homes/mental institutions/community in the previously mentioned countries?

i hope my sister did that too lol! so you're already in australia? i think if you have the complete requirements (see AGOS-04 checklist) then you can process it anywhere in the world

that's strange! did the nursing board of (insert state) forwarded your application to AHPRA? have you tried calling them in their landline or e-mail them? i'm on my first monthsary of waiting, happy halloween!

hi! i'm a filipino nurse. i'm not surprised about the fact that Phil RN = Canadian LPN because this really is our only worth as pinoy nurses, unless we undergo additional assessment. i'm very ashamed of being a Filipino nurse! how sad that filipino nurses need to undergo additional assessment in the west for their credentials to be appropriately and equivalently recognized! but i wouldn't want it any other way because i am sure (relative to nursing experience) the most high tech hospitals in the Philippines are still not at par with even the simplest tertiary hospitals in the west, because that's how poor the health care system is in my country! i'm not a patriotic and nationalistic Filipino nurse. i will do anything (legal? hehe) just to get out of the country and experience greener pastures down under! btw, american dream is fairy tale

the success stories that i'm talking about pertains to their employment and not their activities of daily living in australia (hehe). i think i've only read in this thread 2-3 pinoy BP grads who are already employed, don't know about the rest.

what are the other nursing opportunities in australia? i prefer non-clinical/hospital job like clinic nurse/nursing home/community/company nurse/mental institution/school/travel nurse/cruise ship nurse/what else?. do you think hospital experience would matter (not like i don't have one) if one doesn't wish to work in an australian hospital in the first place? although i very much hate my community health nursing in college (especially the survey part lol!), i think it's my forte. and i would still like to pursue my dream of being a psychiatric nurse (my parent's think i'm crazy).

why is AHPRA more concerned with IELTS 7 and up than experience?

yes i hope the reason why they don't share their success stories is because their busy with their nursing jobs and not picking apples in australian farms (i'm getting hooked on Border Security: Australia's Front Line). apple and orange, anyone?

how alarming, sad and disappointing. maybe i'll do my assignment and research the annual ratio of nursing graduates:available positions. no one (pinoy BP grads) posted their employment stories here. do you think this is their story? huhu nursing life is a nurse-eat-nurse world nowadays!
