Chances of getting into city tech nursing program
Hey!!! The passing grade, if I'm not mistaken, is a 65. You have a good chance of getting into the nursing program if you pass the nursing entrance test and if you do very well in math1275 since they only look at the 4 classes (math 1217, psych 1101, a&p1 and english 1). Good luck and be sure to update us when you get accepted!!!!

CUNY colleges NYC (Kaplan exam)
I transferred from laguardia college and I took math 1275 there and got an A. HOWEVER, city tech told me that I had to retake the class because the class at laguardia was a 3 credit class and city tech was a 4 credit class! So I was upset because I pay my tuition out of pocket, but everything worked out well because I was accepted and start this fall!!!! Good Luck!

Thank you sooo much! Well I transferred from LaGuardia Community College, where I took the psychology and a&p classes, so all i needed to take at city tech was the math1275 and english 2. I got A's in both classes so my GPA is 4.0 right now.

Chances of getting into city tech nursing program
Hello All. I just transferred to city tech this semester (spring2011) and I'm taking 2 of the 4 pre-reqs to get into the nursing program. My grades from previous college are: Psy101 A...A&P B+....The 2 classes I'm taking this semester are English 2 and Math 1275 and so far I'm getting excellent grades so I'm confident I will get an A in both classes. The thing is I just took the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Test (they no longer give the NLN) and I barely passed...I got a 67 on it. With that being said, what do you think my chances are in getting into the nursing program for next semester??? Will my grade from the nursing entrance test hinder me from getting in??? I'm sooo nervous!!! Thanks in advance!

CUNY colleges NYC (Kaplan exam)
Hello all! I'm currently in city tech taking my last 2 pre-reqs to get into the program. I will be taking the test in April. I was wondering if y'all can tell me what kind of material was on kaplan admission test and what study books (if any) would y'all recommend. p.s. is the test free or is it $65? Im getting different answers to that. Thanks in advance!!!

Yea there's a lot to chose from. But they all have 150 questions that cover the same things and are written in the same format as the actual test. Each test has different questions but they all have the same three sections - Reading Ability, Numerical Ability, and Language Ability. They have 2 study guides that explain step by step how to arrive at the answers to the questions found on the actual test. The study guide includes 2 practice test. So its pretty much up to you on whether you want a couple of practice test or just invest 55 bucks to the study guide The second test is called the TABE I'm full time at my job also and a friend of mine that been through this program said they only accept people that are part time because its a lot of work. People that are full time usually drop out and they don't want that. I would love to stay full time but if they tell me that I have to go part time, then that's the sacrifice that I will have to make. Hope I helped!!

Hiii. The applications came out today!! You can go to:pntrghi: SPL_SITE to apply either online or by mail. The cost is 45 bucks. You can also buy study guides/ practice tests. You have to score in the 50th percentile in all three categories to take the second test. Wow the raised the bar !!! Is anyone else going to do this program?? Good Luck to all that apply!!
