PHCC Transition program- LPN to RN bridge- Aug. 2013
Hello cnamarieg! I had the North campus. It was a good program and went quickly. My main complaint was the amount of paperwork. There was way too much. If you are a current LPN working as a nurse at a hospital or ALF, it will be much easier. I wish I could go back and use my LPN skills first, but that's okay. I passed. The schedule - I don't think it's going to matter. From what I understand, they are going to change to a full day the next school year - like 8 to 5. We had classes on M&R 9 to 12 and T&W 630am to 230p (clinicals). But in the beginning it was on Mondays until around 3 for lab. Hope that helps!

PHCC Transition program- LPN to RN bridge- Aug. 2013
That I don't know. I still have my Funds book from the LPN program. I just finished in December. I also still have the Drug Guide and Lab & Diagnostic book - but I have the last edition. I think I'll be okay with those. Test taking techniques book??? I just got out of school. I think I'll be okay. lol. It's really hard to tell, until you've gone to class. I'll probably just rent a few of them.

PHCC Transition program- LPN to RN bridge- Aug. 2013
I'm pretty sure. Some of my old classmates received the West campus schedule. They live in that area. The other old classmate of mine lives nearby me in Spring Hill and she got a North campus schedule... as I did. It's been asked if we could trade, and it was said "maybe" at orientation.

I was accepted into transition. Everybody that received an acceptance letter that I know received them last Friday or Saturday. One of my friends received her rejection letter today. :-(

I wonder if I can bring coffee? It's way too early in the morning. But I guess I need to get used to it.

I don't think we need anything. I might bring my recorder... just in case. I'll bring a notebook to take notes. I think they might go ahead and do our i.d. cards that day. My regular school i.d.... I was sooo not prepared for it. I need a new one. I have brown hair, 5'9", a bit of weight on me. I would tell you what I was going to wear, but I'm sure I'll change my mind a few times. I will definitely wear flip-flops... or should I? I'm a flip-flop girl. This shoe thing is going to kill me. I'll have a black purse. If there are a lot of people I'll start yelling your name. ha ha.. I don't think there will be that many people for classes at that time of the morning.

Hello. Did you want to meet on Tuesday before orientation? Maybe about ten or fifteen minutes till eight? I was thinking maybe on the bridge because the RN thread are meeting in front of the conference center. I'm nervous yet excited. I mean thing about it. These people are going to be like family for a whole year. It's kind of weird. It's like meeting 35 or however many family members at one time.

Good Morning. I guess my background check also went back 20 years.... just till I was 18. Mine was fine... of course. But they also checked other states. I would of have been so annoyed if they charged for other states. It says I have lived in three other states. I've only lived in two besides Florida in the last 18 years. My ex worked in the other one for a month... amazing. They know everything about you. Thanks Springhopeful for the watch info. I know I saw that somewhere. It just gives me an excuse to return the watch. It was just so unconfortable when I put it on. It wasn't ticking at the store so I didn't know until I got it home and fiddled with it. I'll keep on looking. I really hate watches. I go for my immunizations today. Yuck. Have a good day y'all.

Springhopeful - I don't know. I wondered the same. I don't think it has to be faculty. I think it can be anyone. But not sure...

So, Monday I have an appt to go in and get all my immunizations done. Cutting it close, right? While I was about to walk out, this little boy comes in with what looks like chicken pox all over him. He's not school aged yet so I don't know if it's going around in a pre-school somewhere. Yikes. I went and bought a plastic watch yesterday at Target. It was like $7 on clearance, but I don't know if I don't like it because I don't like watches or if it's just a little too stiff right now. Does anyone know if the second hand has to be sweeping or can it tick? It used to be that it had to be a sweeping second hand. But it didn't say on our list. Good Morning!

Cynthia - I'm 38. That's why I'm not sure about the BSN. I would like to, but I might wait a year or two after. From what I'm seeing and hearing... it's worth it. I guess it depends on how much it will cost. Plus, by the time I would start I would already be done with over four years of school. I'm already a bit tired of school. You know?

Cynthia - I have all but the Microbiology done for my transition. I'm not sure about the BSN.

That's true. Haven't heard from her in what seems forever. Although it's probably just a couple of days. It's seems to be crunch time at school right now. I've had or am having three tests and one presentation due this week. It's a bit crazy. One month and one day until the semester ends. I can't wait. If I want to get my AA for any reason then I would only have speech and another humanities class to go. I figured after the LPN I would maybe take those two and Microbiology. Then I will have my AA and all my pre-req's done for LPN-RN bridge. Or maybe try to get into USF.. we will see... My point was that RedSox is probably really busy with school. I think she has five classes... I hope that's it anyways...

I think that's a good idea. I have noticed that once the semester starts most of them slow down. But why not? Does anybody else want to do this? I guess there are only four of us on here anyways for right now. I see sometimes there are some visitors looking, but that could be one of us just not signed in. Do you want to make the page or...?

I'm Colleen. I live in Spring Hill. I am a single mom to a six year old girl who takes the energy right out of me. Right now I work part-time at a local pet store. I have my own patients there - dogs. But I don't think I'll be working once school starts. I'm not sure yet. If I did it wouldn't be more than ten hours a week. I definitely want to do some kind of study group, but I just don't know if I would be able to do it everyday. You have a great day too!

Cynthia - So, how did the scrubs feel on? Do they show everything? They make me nervous. Maybe the top will cover my butt. lol Good night!
