  1. After the Spring semester is complete, I will only have Nursing Research, Nursing Management and Capstone. Does anyone know if there are three 5 week sections during the Summer or will I need to take these together?
  2. I start technical writing and Professional Nursing on 9/22. Do the professors wait until a couple days before to open up the Blackboard classes? I do not see any of my classes yet. Also, are you waiting to purchase your books until they post the required textbooks on Blackboard?
  3. Those of you who are in the Capstone course, did you wait until the instructor posted the textbook requirements with the syllabus or is there a list of required books on the UTA site you used before the classes started?
  4. This book is excellent for breaking down questions and how to narrow down options. Its only about 100 pages too so really quick review but great content. [h=1]Saunders 2014-2015 Strategies for Test Success: Passing Nursing School and the NCLEX Exam / Edition 3[/h] by Linda Anne Silvestri
  5. I am in the same boat as you. I would hate to use the link below and then have the instructor require a different textbook for class. College of Nursing: Campus-Based Program - Booklists
  6. After you registered for classes, did you use the book requirements listed on the UTA website or wait until the instructor gave you the required list on the syllabus?
  7. I have also been "provisionally accepted" and spoken with my advisor already. Here is the contact information I have used and their response is always within 24-48 hours. R. H. 9. I will be starting on 9/22 with Technical Writing and Professional Nursing 3645. I also have a bachelor from Tx State but did not require Math Statistics. Does anyone know if I can take statistics along with technical writing and Prof Nursing? Would you recommend it or will it be too much a work load? I work full time, am two months pregnant and have a two and a half year old but did all the same except for the 2 and a half year old throughout nursing school.

  11. Looks like the Fundamentals class calendar has been posted but not Health Assessment yet (I have Professor D****** for both). I know all the other classes are having to read the first 4 chapters in Health Assessment so I will just do the same but do you think he will just give us the calendar on Monday? I don't even see an announcement for Health Assessment Orientation yet. Does anyone else?
  12. I know the syllibi are not up yet but are your classes even showing on BB? Mine still says I am currently not enrolled in any classes???
  13. I did not even think to check out ratemyprofessor.com which I did for all the pre-req classes. Doesn't seem like many students were very fond of his teaching skills. Hopefully he will be in a better mood than what he was the years they took his class. I was very excited before I read those, now I am nervous!
  14. For those of you who are in Professor N****** classes, have you seen the syllibi on BB yet? I just want to make sure he hasn't posted anything yet because my BB still says I have no classes but when I log into SOS my schedule is listed. I also just want to double check that our schedule is every other Monday for 1215 Health Assessment and Tuesday and Weds for 1413 since SOS has different times and days than what he said in orientation.
  15. Thank you for the help on what to prepare for as far as reading material before the first day of class. I wish they would put up the syllibi for the Hybrid/Evening classes so we could know what to prepare for and not have to get it all done the weekend before.
  16. What are you guys doing to prepare for classes in two weeks? I will be in the Hybrid/Evening classes and our course syllibi are not posted yet so I don't know if we should just read over the chapters or review anything.
  17. You are correct. I called and spoke with Blackboard Tech Online and they informed me that some instructors open their classes early while others don't open theirs until a week before classes start.
  18. None of my classes are showing up in Blackboard either (Hybrid/Evening Classes). I saw the email to give them some time but that was two days ago. Are we suppose to email Tiffany?
  19. The only place is under the nursing page to the right, go to paying for college tab and then to the right again is the tuition and fees breakdown. Resident Out-of-District Tuition and Fees Tuition is $84 per credit hour plus a one-time per semester $140 general service fee. The general service fee is non-refundable unless you completely withdraw from the College. 20. So if we are not going back to get the titer blood work for another 30 days (must be 30 days after our last Hep A&B shots) do we leave that part on the physical blank or do we fill in the date we will have the blood work completed?
  21. Congrats everyone! I am also wondering about how many days and hours we will be going. I looked at the hybrid schedule for 2010 and it looks like some classes / labs start at 5:00pm and some at 6:00pm. Also, some students stated that they had clinicals, exams or meetings during the days and weekends just depending on the instructors' schedule. I am just excited to go to orientation and find out!
  22. Thank you! I am in the same boat you are and need to save where I can since I don't have financial aid. I think I will research online to try and find the cheapest books available but wait to buy them until after orientation. Knowing my luck I would buy all the books we don't need : )
  23. i found this list of books on the spring thread but don't see that we need the brunner book for this semester. is that correct? also, does anyone know what books are included in the package? health assessment in nursing-w/dvd+lab. - 9781608317752 - required brunner+.txbk.of med...single vol-w/dvd - 9780781785891 - required mosby's manual of diagnostic+lab.tests - 9780323057479 - required nursing diagnosis handbook - 9780323071505 - required publ.man.of am.psych.assoc.(2nd+prtg) - 9781433805615 - required fundamentals of nursing-w/dvd - 9780781793834 - required nurse practice act - 2818440001123 - required fundamentals of nursing bundle - 9781451144437 - required package taylor's clinical nursing skills-w/dvd - 9780781793841 - recommended package memory notebook of nursing- 9781892155139 - recommended taylor's hdbk.of clinical nursing skill - 9781582557359 - recommended memory notebook of nursing,v.ii- 9781892155177 - recommended memory notebook of nursing vol 1 - 9781892155184 - recommended
  24. Can someone tell me where we can find the textbooks needed for our classes? Also, do we pay for the lab pack at our August 3rd orientation?
  25. I am an evening accepted applicant here! I am going to the Clinic Locations and Hours for the rest of my shots. Started them last year but then found out I was pregnant before the last round could be completed so I need to see if I can still get the last round or have to start all over. It was $15 (total) for 3 different shots. I can't remember if you pay per shot or per doctor visit.
