  1. You're right. I didn't make my question clear. I was more concerned with making sure there was no specific scrub color for RNs. Thank you for answering that for me.
  2. Does anyone know if UCSD has a dress code/policy for RNs? Do they have color coded scrubs there? Thanks!
  3. Congrats! Does the theory still hold true that they may be calling in alphabetical order of last names? Thanks!
  4. On their website it states: "Note to All RN NEW GRAD Applicants: We are no longer accepting applications for the RN New Grad Program scheduled to start July 11, 2011. We would like to thank everyone who applied. Candidates will be contacted by May 20th regarding the status of their application." (Just saw this yesterday as I was wondering myself.)
  5. I submitted my resume and received an email back with questions about RN license, GPA, etc. No email invitation to the open house or phone interview yet. Keeping my fingers crossed! Congratulations Allie58D! :)
  6. I called HR about 2 or 3 weeks ago when the tower 1 position was no longer posted. HR was not very helpful however and just told me that if the job is no longer posted then it's been filled. Not sure what that means about the status of the other 3 that are still posted.
  7. I graduated in Aug 2010. (Approaching that undesirable year mark.) Like everyone else I've applied to upwards of 100 positions/programs. Had 3 interviews. No offer. Congratulations on getting so close in the process. Last time my app was forwarded to the manager but no interview. I wish you the best of luck this time around!
  8. Got my rejection email from MSJ
  9. Thanks persistancepays. I applied to UCSD during the last round and got the questionnaire emailed to me right away. Because I didn't receive an email this time, I was hoping they weren't emailing questionnaires since there were similar questions in the application. I applied for SICU, tele, PCU, and IMU. What about you?
  10. If I may ask, after you submitted your application, you received an email from UCSD? I also applied the first day but did not get an email. Wonder if that means I'm out already.....
  11. Hello everyone, Did anybody apply to this new grad program at mercy san juan hospital near Sacramento, CA? They are supposed to hold interviews next week and my status still says HR review. Just wondering if anyone had received a call yet. Thanks and good luck to everyone who is job hunting out there!
  12. I got the same email. You are not alone.
  13. Hi everyone, I applied for 3 of the 4 positions currently posted. I called HR and was told that the nurse recruiter was not available but the lady on the phone asked if she could help me. She told me that all apps are forwarded to the managers of the units. Once the managers have decided who they want to interview, they let HR know. I asked when this might happen. She said the best she could tell me was that once the posting is no longer listed on the website that means they are ready to begin interviewing. Hope this helps! Good luck to us all!
  14. Thanks. Sorry. Just so anxious and wondering what's going on with that unit..........
  15. Any word from those who chose OR?
  16. Juan - I can see that you have a lot of nursing experience. May I ask your opinion about whether or not direct entry NP graduates need RN experience or not? As I stated in my previous comments, I don't believe that I have much of a choice.
  17. Thank you Annaiya! I will certainly keep this in mind as I continue to apply.
  18. Thank you both for your thoughtful responses. CRF250Xpert - I have heard arguments on both ends of the spectrum with regards to RN experience being necessary or not to be an effective NP. At the end of the day, in my opinion, the job market has the final say and 95% of the NP jobs I have seen (keep in mind that I cannot work in primary care) require at least 1 year of RN experience if not 2 or more. sandnnw - You are right. I am having trouble getting hired period. I'm having trouble with NP jobs for the reason explained above. I am having trouble with new grad RN jobs due, of course, to the number of new grads being much larger than the number of open spots. I also think part of the reason for my not getting into new grad RN positions might be the fact that I have an MSN degree. Thank you for the SICU suggestion. I hadn't thought about that but it makes a lot of sense. In terms of an NP job outside of the hospital, do you have any good sources/websites I could look through for possible openings?
  19. Yes. I received an email about being put on the waitlist. I didn't even get as far as the talentplus process. Still hoping beyond all hope that I'll be pulled from the waitlist. :)
  20. Thank you for this information. I applied for OR but am on the waiting list. Any idea how many they are taking for the OR?
  21. Hi! I am an ACNP without RN experience. I am interested in becoming a surgical NP caring for patients preop, post op, & ideally assisting intraoperatively if possible. Would it would be better to gain experience as an RN in an ICU/critical care setting or an OR setting? Thank you in advance for your thoughts and comments.
  22. WHC Residency was posted today. Program begins July 18. Good luck to all!
  23. Thanks bright-eyedRN. Congratulations and good luck with your interview!
  24. May I ask if you applied on the first day (March 7)?
  25. I received a waitlist email as well. Something will open up for us soon. Stay positive everyone!
