  1. I'm having a hard time with only picking one choice. Does anyone know if they will consider you for other positions that also match your qualifications? Sharp is really great, best of luck to all of us
  2. can someone please post the link the UW program?? I'm having such a hard time finding any information on this program. Thank you!! Also, I emailed swedish and they said their posting to start in November is currently open, but I don't know when the next one will open
  3. Yeah I just emailed them too. I hope it is ok :/
  4. Has anyone had technical difficulties with the application? I tried applying today (oct 12th) and it was going well and then when I signed back on it it said the application was no longer available?
  5. Does anyone else's say assessment pending even though you already did it?
  6. When is the last day to apply? Can someone help? The last day on the website says Sunday October 12, but today is the 11th? I'm confused
  7. Hi everyone, Do you know if I can submit the application and then upload the letters of rec like tomorrow. I have everything, but still waiting on one letter of rec and was wondering if I could at least submit the application, thank you!
  8. I don't know if there is a better thread for this, but does anyone know of any new programs that are starting/ admitting new cohorts anywhere in the country? I know that UCDavis in California has a new program, but not an accelerated bachelors... Anyone have any ideas?
  9. Just curious (if you all don't mind sharing) what were your stats for those that were accepted? I'm considering applying to CU
  10. decisions are up can't bring myself to look..i will though in just a couple of minutes is there anyone out there who got in who was in the waitlist last year and their application got forwarded? congrats to all
  11. I'm just venting..but I was forwarded from last year and it would be so crushing to not get in again this year... Good luck to all
  12. Oh my! I am so nervous. I was deferred from last year...anybody else with the same situation? I really do hope I get in. For those of you who were deferred we were allowed to edit our personal statements and resumes by emailing Jose. I did that and I received a confirmation from him that it was all updated. However, it doesn't appear updated on the website. I emailed him just to double check again and he said my application was updated. Anybody have any insight into this? I'm so nervous waiting...thank you for all who provided information.
  13. Hi all, First of, I really like allnurses, I've found so many insightful posts. I'm just feeling anxious right now and thought I would post my situation to get some advice. I graduated from a fairly good undergraduate public school in California, however, my gpa was less than stellar 2.8. I did well on the courses I took at community colleges (the prereqs) but still I'm so unsure of what to do next. Last year I applied to a few schools, mostly out of state, I was waitlisted at one, denied from 2. I worked to make the other parts of my application as good as possible, now I feel I've used up my good letter of req, etc ..but now I'm sitting here wanting to apply again. This time I think I will apply for an accelerated bsn just because I would like more options of specialties when I do go to my masters. Does anyone know any schools that I would have a chance to get into?? I'm just ready to get on with my life I would greatly appreciate if anyone knows of any schools in California or ANYWHERE else really where I can apply as soon as possible maybe for spring 2012..??? I would appreaciate any suggestions since I am doing my research too and have ruled out Samuel merritt any others??? please help...
  14. Hi everyone, I know this thread is old but I just wanted to post because I feel I am in the same situation as some of you. I graduated from a pretty good undergraduate school but my gpa is certainly not stellar 2.8. I really try hard and I believe I'm not a bad student, my prerequisites I took at community colleges I've gotten A's and B's...I also want to apply to an ABSN and was wondering if you all knew which ones there might be a better chance of being accepted to. My eventual goal is to get a masters, but have to get through the first step...any suggestions?? Toya, I also wanted to ask you if you could tell us which schools you were accepted to...thanks
  15. do you guys think it is harder to get into public than private schools though? also Jefferson their program for the BSN is 2 years 33K a year, but with living cost etc it ends up being around 45K. The tuition they are talking about does not include books or uniforms which are a couple hundred. I'm really weighing my options too because I already have a bachelors in something else so for my nursing degree I will not get any financial aid because I already have a degree, only some loans from school and then private loans, is it worth it? I don't know...lots to consider for me too especially with Jefferson... best of luck :), let me know if you guys know how well Jefferson functions as a program, etc...
  16. oops! didn't finish... I think it's worth looking into that at schools, how easy it is to find jobs after wards, etc. Now I am really thinking whether I want to be in so much debt after I graduate... Good luck :)
  17. Hi, I just wanted to post on this topic because I have also considered schools in the east coast including Jefferson. I was getting a physical the other day and it was done by a nurse practitioner. She was a very nice lady who was just chatting with me and offering advise. Are you interested in being a nurse or a np? Anyways, she gave so so much information about how so many recent grad nurses she receives that don't know how to do much, don't know how to perform, etc. She was saying that I really need to look at what kind of school I am going to and more importantly know what kind of training they will give me. She went to a school in California where her masters for a np degree was under the school of medicine and she raved about the program. I valued her advise because I have heard before that some nurses graduate not knowing how to communicate with doctors, etc. She was so shocked to also find out the price for some of these private schools. The best is to talk to nurses in the field after they have graduated and how their education has helped them perform in their jobs, etc. I just got this insight, wish I had gotten it a little sooner before applying, but of course this is just one opinion. She also said that private schools (like Jefferson) tend to charge more almost always, but there are some very good public schools in certain states. She had a lot of experience though both as a nurse and nurse practitioner so I definitely took it.
  18. hey I'm looking to apply for the august 15 deadline for winter 12, how long is the accelerated program exactly do you guys know? Also, how hard is it to get it? Can some of you please post your teas score and your gpa please? It's just I wanna get an idea of how much of a chance I may have...
  19. Anywhere is fine, do you know of any? :)
  20. yes a little disheartening. But you're right everything happens for a reason... On a side note, Do you guys know any school or a site that lists schools that have rolling admissions?
  21. Thanks naa232 :) I gotta admit that makes me a little nervous for friday. Good luck you guys
  22. Yeah I think there was a deadline of April 1st, but I thought it said they would notify us about applying again, etc if anyone hears anything can you let us know? Thanks :)
  23. I'm on the waitlist too haven't hear anything. It would be so nice to hear back. Do you guys know if when considering you they will only consider your specialty and nothing else? I don't remember seeing a second choice specialty on the app, but I definitely had top two you know? FNP and neonatal fnp
  24. I'm sooo bummed stumbled upon this thread and I haven't heard anything yet. I live in California, but still it doesn't seem like a good sign that I haven't heard. Congrats to all who have gotten in. Do you all know of any schools that take in rolling admissions?
