Hi, I am considering transferring to SUNY Delhi Online MSN Program. Can anyone provide me with insight into the program? How is the coursework? Supportive course instructors? Live classes? Student interaction? Lectures? How are the assignments? How long are the papers? are assignments reasonable/doable for working parents? Practicum? Capstone? Looking for any and all information. Thank you

Why I'm Leaving the Nursing field and Nursing School
I feel the same way!!!! You are not alone. I would love to make a career switch yesterday but it is so difficult during this time. Education is costly and jobs are scarce. This is the story of my life.

Are there any weekend graduate programs online or in the NYC metro area ?
Hi everyone, I'm looking to return to school for my masters degree (still undecided on which degree :)) but I work full time Monday thru Friday 9-5p. I was wondering if there were any weekend nursing masters level programs that catered to a full time working mom.

BSN or save for a house?
During this current time I would say you should return to school and complete you BSN and go for the house afterwards. The minimum requirement for most facilities is a BSN and even with a BSN it is still difficult to find a stable (I'm not referring to per diem) job. You need your career to pay for a mortgage. Good Luck!

Emblem Health Case Manager
I have a few more questions, what is your work load expected to look like->does it seem like you will be working past normal business hours (evening/weekend)? And do you cover cases throughout the state or by borough. Also Good luck in your new position.

Emblem Health Case Manager
Hi, can I get an update on your experience so far with the CM position with Emblem Health. And the salary answer what never really answered. What is the starting salary? How are the zones/ boroughs assigned. How often are you required to be in the office vs. home. Also, are you required to visit members?

Visiting nurse slapped with a parking ticket :-/
This is exactly my point. We should get a plaque or sticker. Teachers and Diplomats do!

Visiting nurse slapped with a parking ticket :-/
Great point but don't assume b/c I double parked closer to the hydrant just in case the parked car had an emergency.

Visiting nurse slapped with a parking ticket :-/
Exactly my point @mjaybx

Visiting nurse slapped with a parking ticket :-/
MJB2010 you have a right to your own opinion...my point is only that nurses should be exempt while ON DUTY and visiting patients.

Visiting nurse slapped with a parking ticket :-/
Im not sure if you are familiar with NYC street parking. Besides that, You are right about knowing that I was not suppose to park there was no parking after an hour of searching. You know my only point is that nurses should have consideration while on duty so that patients can be seen in a timely fashion. Time is wasted and care is hindered when circling for parking for hours.

Visiting nurse slapped with a parking ticket :-/
Hi everyone.I am a visiting nurse. I go to the homes of multiple patient's on a daily basis. Today I was slapped with a parking ticking for double parking my car while alternate side parking was in effect. I really tried to find a parking spot. I drove around the area for over hour. Parking is extremely difficult in and city/urban area. What is a visiting nurse suppose to do in such a case?I feel like nurses should be excuse/ exempt from such tickets while on duty. Humph!Anyway can you all give me any suggestion on how I can get out of paying this $115 ticket? #lifeinnyc

What is an enrollment liaison (RN) day usually like?
I was thinking about applying for a position as an enrollment liaison nurse for vns in the Bronx. I am interested in this position because I meet the qualifications and it is different from what I do. What is the average day like for an enrollment liaison nurse? What is the starting salary? Does he/she do any visits, work the weekend or holidays? What is their case load like? Same questions about a nurse consultant. Feel free to offer additional information.

Having such a difficult time finding work
Have you tried Psychiatry?

Would phlebotomy experience benefit a future RN?
Hospital experience yes but not the phlebotomy experience. The ancillary staff draws blood in many facilities anyway. Good luck!

Changing to a non-nursing career?
You are not alone. I have also contemplated changed careers. I used to be a para also, this was before becoming a nurse. I loved it. I loved going to work. But I would never go back to that b/c I would never be able to pay my bills on that salary. How are you able to do it? financially? Maybe you can consider going into education.

Americare CSS in Brooklyn
U know what that had to be *. He did the same thing to me. Then he told me he was going to hire me. He told me someone would call me the following week. Someone did call me to reschedule my appointment for the following week. My appointment was rescheduled 2 times. On like the 4th week, *. told me to call him q week to check back with him. I called him for almost a month= 2 months. I was frustrated and ask him upfront about the position and he told me I no longer needed to call. :down:A total waste of time. The disorganization and the unprofessionalism told me a lot about that company.
