  1. Was wondering what's everyone's opinion on what school is better... Walden or Chamberlain for FNP?? I work 3 - 12's a week and the clinical portion would be more doable from Walden. Just curious what others think. Thanks! :)
  2. I haven't researched a school that makes the clinical assignment for me yet. I received my BSN through WGU so I'm not sure if I am considered a competitive student since I'm considered a 3.0 GPA. If anyone has any recommendations for FNP schools I would love to hear them. I live in Ohio.
  3. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me information on the following FNP programs. I am having a very hard time finding a program that I would to attend; Any information would be helpful. Thanks!! Xavier University (in Ohio) University of Cincinnati Chamberlain University Ball State University Walden University
  4. So I take nclex for the third time THIS tuesday. The first time I tested was in July and failed with 265 questions. My report said I was above in Safety, below in Pharm and near in the rest of the categories. I didnt give myself enough time to study I literally studied all day for 3 days... I dont know what I was thinking. So the second time I tested I used Kaplan on demand. Did all the question trainers except question trainer #7 because I ran out of time. I got a 61% on readiness test which is around a 92% pass rate. I used the study guide on here and a few questions from saunders. I felt really confident this time. Well I failed with 265 questions. My report said I was above in Safety and near passing in the rest, I didnt have any below passing. This time I have used the Kaplan Strategies Book 2013-2014, PDA, Saunders Q&A, the study guide on here and PrepU. I have studied off and on for 6 weeks. This last week I have studied for about 3-6 hours a day. I have completed over 1000 questions and feel confident. I know my problem is anxiety so I went to my doctor and she put me on something to help. I feel less anxious about retesting but tonight I have started feeling anxious and am questioning whether or not push my date back. UGH. Any words of encouragement and positive stories would be much appreciated!!! And most of all say a prayer for me, I could use all I can get! :)
  5. Here are my Kaplan scores so far... QT 1 - 57.33 QT 2 - 56 QT 3 - 56 QT 4 - 52 QT 5 - 55 QT 6 - 58.5 Plan to do QT 7 today and Readiness test in a few days as I test this coming week. I know my scores arent what ppl say I should aim for, should I consider rescheduling?? This is my second time testing nclex. First time I went 265 questions... failed. This time I am nervous but I feel more confident and ready than the first time since I had more time to prepare. The first time I literally had 3 days to fully study hard. Any advice?
  6. I just started nursing school last week. I am in an RN program. The first few days have been overwhelming and long. I have had soo many feelings this first week of school. As anyone ever questioned whether or not this is the career you want? I am so overwhelmed it makes me want to quit. I wont quit because I want to be a nurse but I feel I cant do this! Just looking for some common feelings others have had and some words of encouragement. We had our vital sign check off this week and I PASSED!!! That made me feel like I was doing the right career but again the study load and everything else is still making me doubt my decision....
  7. White pants and a royal blue scrub top. We got instructed to wear white or nude underwear only or we would get sent home from clinical. The instructor also made it clear that we must wear underwear..... ha I about lost it, who wouldnt wanna wear underwear with white scrub pants? Really!!! lol
  8. I read out loud like I am teaching a class. Then I explain things out loud which makes me remember them better. I have to be in a quite room and alone. I usually read something then try to discuss things through. I take alot of breaks or study a different way; I may read for 15-20 mins then make flash cards or create an outline of what I read. I also like to sit inside then go outside if possible the environment change helps me to concentrate a little bit more. If I dont understand something I write it down and ask a friend or the instructor.
