Yes make sure you know jnc7 guidelines, you will use it in practice everyday. Basics meaning the disease process itself, we are prohibited from discussing the test content so I have to be careful in what I say. I used the hollier review book, not the book with the questions, the book that is similar to Ferri's which was our bible but huge. The hollier book is more condensed and provides great info on everything. And like I said, I made flashcards and it helped me tremendously. Good luck to you, try to remain calm, breathing exercises helped me:)

To all of you taking aanp for the first time or retaking you might want to step away from the questions and do systems review. I found it helped me to go back to the basics and systems review. The questions seemed to train my brain to look only for that subject matter which I believe really hurt me the first go around. I did much better the second time. I am family so my test covered a little bit of everything. I wish you all the best:)

Hello Willpass0515, So sorry to hear that you did not pass. Believe me I know your pain..... I had to go back to the basics and and content. I used a review book and made flash cards and studied everyday whenever I had a chance if I was working and if not I studied about 8 hrs a day in 2 hr sessions. I convinced myself tomrelax and remain calm with deep breathing techniques in order to relax before and while taking the test and I passed the second time. I hope this helps!!!

Just a suggestion to you all preparing for the test first or again. I stepped away from the questions and went back to the basics. I made flashcards from the Fitzgerald review book as well as the hollier book, the book that is similar to ferris, not the book of questions. It really helped me. Repitition, repitition, that's what works for me. Thanks to all and best of luck to all. Also, try to remain calm, that is the toughest hurdle.

Hello Candys, I know your pain, I was miserable and a mess. I studied pretty much everyday. I actually made flashcards which is how I studied all through grad school, repitition, repitition. The hollier book is great, it is like a mini ferris which is what we used in grad school. I also did 1000's of questions before my first test which I think real hurt me. Get back to the basics and content it is my best suggestion. I also did a lot of praying for peace and calmness and I was much more relaxed the second time. I wish you the best. I don't know what to say about the test being similar, I have heard it could be a completely different test the second time. Just stick to the content and you should be fine. I passed aanp fnp yesterday.....yeah it's over!!!!!

Really need a prayer. I am taking aanp fnp test for the second time tomorrow. Nervous again. Will it be similar or completely different???? I just hope I can get through it without panicking again and hopefully pass this time:)

Jleahfell I would like to email you but cannot find your email. I used fitz book, attended live review, did 1,000's of questions from fitz and hollier and apea. I can't believe that I failed. I am having a terrible time in regaining my confidence. How do I graduate with honors, pass the hesi without a problem and fail boards? Have been studying my butt off again and everyone around me is passing..... My trust was hard, it's all a blur now....should be able to schedule retake in 1-2 weeks but am very scared.

I know the feeling. I just received my letter of approval to retake and am anxious to get it over with. I have been studying a lot reviewing the content from the first test. I wonder what the chances are that it will be on the same content or completely different? I must want the stress to go away.....at least the water works have pretty much stopped but the anxiety hits me when I least expect it. Just going to keep studying. Good luck!

Usf fl msn I believe the gpa must be at least. 3.0-3.2. It is very competitive. Check out the usf.edu website for the cut off dates, they are very strict in adherence. There is actually a new program director in place and she is a very pleasant and easy to work with. The previous director was an extremely good instructor and very knowledgeable. Again, check out the website for admission criteria and make sure that you submit everything on the list. Good luck. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Mickey4, Thanks for the reply. I am still waiting my letter. I will definitely overnight my retake info. Did you have to send in copies of ceu's completed (the actual certificates)? What other info did you receive via email in addition to the hard copy? I took the Fitzgerald live review, listened to the cd's answered 1,000's of questions from another cd and another book. I think I was just too nervous and was not able to focus. I have had test anxiety before but never like that. I appreciate your advice. Thanks

I too failed aanp about 2 weeks ago. I am sick over it and trying to move forward. I have already completed more than the required ceu's and am waiting to receive my results. How long before you received results and how soon can you retake? Trust me, I know exactly how you feel, extremely embarrassed, mad at myself and disbelief.....
