hello smoochie05 yes. your temporary license will be mailed at your house by mail. The temporary license is nothing but a piece of paper with your # indicated in it. i don't think that TX CON will invalidate your jurisprudence exam just because you took it early. i don't think it really matters. the fact that you were able to take the jurisprudence exam is proof that TX knows you're a potential candidate for endorsement. hope this helps.

I would like to thank meredithder for her help. Without her insight, I wouldn't have the courage to pursue my application for endorsement in texas. I would like to share to everyone things you may omit or not do but still get that license from Texas. 1. You don't need any relative from the US to get a finger print card. I was able to get a copy of my fingerprint mailed directly at my home here in the Philippines. You just have to indicate your complete address in the website when you request for it. 2. I did not attach a copy of my license in the Philippines nor the passing letter I received from California few years back in my mail. 3. You can actually check the status of your progress online in their website. (BON texas) 4. If you have queries, you can actually email them at ad : [email protected] I think Texas is the cheapest and fastest state you can transfer your license to through endorsement. Total expenses for transfer was only $260 plus mailing and PRC fees.

i would like to voice out that PH nurses should STOP doing volunteer/trainee programs NOW. it is an obvious EXPLOITATION. the only way that we could stop this JOKE from happening is for us to simply STOP why do we let ourselves to be fooled? because WE LET THEM... I would like to know which address in California did those who successfully acquired their license send their Verification of License form. Did you guys just used the generic address from their website which is Board of Registered Nursing 1625 North Market Boulevard, Suite N217 Sacramento, CA 95834-1924 or has any of you used this: Attn: Renewals Unit Attn: Licensing Unit and if so, which unit. I've read in one thread that the licensing unit is the right department to send the request for verification of license (since we dont have an SSN yet) as the renewals Unit declined. 2. and how did you pay the $60. a detailed overview will be very much appreciated. Nurses are being exploited because we let ourselves to be exploited. Nurses who fall in line for volunteer / training slots should stop. It is not worth it nor do we deserve it.

it's a hard road but not an impossible road. cheers. i don't think nursing graduates or anyone in particular, would want to see their self workin as telephone operators. i don't want to generalize but i think that if people like us are given fair opportunities to work in what we were trained to do and at the same time is compensated fairly, call center will never be in our dictionary. do you get what i mean? you think your friends are happy because they're in convergys, but the fact is, they're not. we have been victims of the situation. if there are jobs available for everyone and your friends still opted to pursue to become telephone operators, then perhaps they are meant to be one. otherwise, plainly immature to generalize that nurses whose "first choice" was not nursing and are working elsewhere are happier. let me tell you, nursing may not be my first choice but it doesn't mean i don't want to be one. am i able to practice it? so, what were you doing when your mother was sick? stare at her? nursing is not only confined within the boundaries of a hospital or a clinic. hehe. allow me to quote confucius as well. "it does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop".

Well, I don't know about your friends but I certainly would not want to see myself working as a telephone operator. I don't mean to be offensive but at the end of the day, I want to see myself working as a nurse because this is what I was trained to do. I did not go to nursing school to become a call center agent. Company nurse - probability of a male company nurse to a female company nurse is low. School nurse? I don't want to give antipyretics and take body temperatures all my life. OPD Nurse - uhuh. More like a secretary. CI? And we complain about the low quality of nursing education in the Philippines? CIs need vast array of experience in my opinion. Volunteer - I had enough.

Do you think you know what recruiting agency are they connected in the Philippines?

The fact that I am still hopeful that a miracle would come to me one day and be able to work as a NURSE (not a volunteer) is proof. I remember one time when I had to turn down a job offer from CONVERGYS. It hit me. I can still eat three times a day. I don't need this. The beautiful HR, Lord she was hot, told me in Tagalog, "You really want to be a nurse, don't you?"

At first they claimed an employment certificate will be issued. However, it's only a training certificate. Certificate of completion if I remember it right.

Really? What agency did they went to? I have 2 years experience but 1 1/2 of it is purely volunteer. I only had 6 months of paid experience thru the DOLE - NARS project.
