  1. Hi, I had less than 1 year of experience in LTC and just had interview yesterday for RN CASE MANAGER for a Home Health and Hospice company in Orange city, CA. She offered me the position. I am so excited but have no idea what I am going to do. Can anyone give me an idea what a case manager would do in Hospice. She said that I will go to places to do visits like nursing homes, patients' houses.... and my orientation will depend on me, depend on how long I'll catch on things. She said that " give yourself 6 months to get used to this job and about training, you will follow another case manager. You will also can call " team leader" anytime to ask question. once a week we will have a meeting with physician, social worker, chaplain,....to discuss. Gas reimbursed is 44cents/ mile." She said that the turnover rate is really low. I will start out with 3-4 visits a day and go up when I feel comfortable with the job. I'll work M-F, 8-5. And she asked me about the pay rate which I have no idea since I just moved to Orange county, ca 1 week ago from ND. Any ideas about this job requirements will be appreciated. I just love to have an idea what is my job about. Thank you
  2. @ Skeen, ICU Hi, I am just looking for any open RN that they offered. Since I only have exp in LTC and Rehab, is there a chance for applying? Please, please help me out :) since I am so new to this area. I can do some side job related to the field also but have no idea where to start?? any sugg is appreciated, Skeen! Thank you.
  3. I hope that you can get your green card before OPT is over. I also understand your frustration in the process of applying for job without any experience. It is already hard for legal RN to get one. Even if you let your employers know about your status, I think the chance of being hired is pretty dim. Keep praying for us both that we'll get hired.!! good luck to you.
  4. HI LOTTE, I'm looking for RN job in southern Ca. I will reside in Santa Ana but will not mind driving for long distance as long as they are hiring. I have 1 yr experience in LTC, dementia and rehab experience. Wonder if you can give me some info, it would be awesome. Thanks
  5. I would do IR for med err. I did several in the past. I did not mentioned the name. Just basically said :" I administered the first tablet on.... date" and to day is the 4th day but the last 2 pills were not be given to resident according to the remained box" Follow up with an email to manager, and progress noted if resident had any side effects, any problems. That's all
  6. I got paid 20.16/hr in North Dakota as a first RN job. I am looking for a job in southern california as my family move at the end of this year. I am so stressful because haven't found a job yet. If anybody have an idea where is hiring, please let me know. Appreciate that
