  1. Aaaaaaargh! My computer jumps around at will making weird sentences and words. I have heard that Supplemental is best. What is your experience?
  2. Traumajunkie....so, is there a travel company you would recommend? Soar, during this research, I have heard that S f upplemental is the best. When it gets dog-eat-dog in any situation though.....Let me know please.
  3. No traumajunkie, I don't work for advantage RN. I was responding to skigr from page 5, on this thread, who had a terrible episode with them. I apologi ze for being so cloudy.
  4. Me-oww! I've seen them in action here too. Oh, the claws can come out and some nurses don't even see it coming. In nature, survival goes to the nurturer. The ones who teach and assist, not to the fittest. The system as it is today, is bound to fail because success often goes to the loudest and meanest. Of course, this is my humble opinion.
  5. I hope advantage RN never has to "fight" for a critical patient like he/she fought for you ! How lame and unprofessional to wait 3 weeks.
  6. You can get some comfort from Doc Lori, R.N., also the thread here at all nurses under 'verbal written warnings and termination'. Most of us have many years of this under our belts. You can get lots of good support here. The problem is systemic. Keeping up with your own mental health is essential.
  7. Wow Losbozos. It sounds like your pain was extenive, I mean, it reached long after you were a goner. Gone are the good ole JCHO days when administrators actually had their toes to the fire once every 2 years. They used to suck up to staff for their compliance. I think the administrators now see floor staff as the enemy who can mess it all up for them. I have said it before, if they could run the place without nurses (or complaining patients and family members) they would!!!! This atmosphere has little to do with healing. Are you satisfied with the results you got when you followed the chain of command? My advice to those who are considering stepping out of the zoo is to look around and get some names of new references before you're a vague memory.
  8. RNDude, y'know, thinking back, I took STATS as a Math requirement. Maybe that is why it counted as 'fulfilled'. Don't you think it's a great program? I do.
  9. Yes, Sand_Dollar, I'm referring to CCConline. I was so happy to get my A in Stats, thinking it would do something beautiful to my GPA. That didn't happen, all I got was acknowledgement that the requirement had been fulfilled. Still, it was a very good system for me.
  10. I forgot to mention that the grade is transferred as pass or fail. Like if you got an A in class, it won't help your GPA. Still, you get to knock off required classes in a few weeks.
  11. Not one single nurse began her career knowing everything. We all started out with a desire and of course fear. It really is true, everyday you learn something new. Why not try?
  12. Hi RNperdiem. There is a big difference in the flow of work during each shift. I worked days the last 5 years, and the interruptions from docs, nurses, family members, the chart-hunting due to dietary, therapy, discharge planning etc. it's a zoo.
  13. Hi Wondern. I'm sorry you got suckered into playing Joan of Arc for the others who were in the same situation as you. In groups, there is always one who takes the complaints of others to heart and goes out on the limb, to be witnessed crashing to the ground, by the once crying, still employed nurses. That's just the way groups are. The venting gives them enough release to continue. I appreciate your tenderness but in a group, MYOB is always good advice.
  14. I like what you said here esp. the quote about leadership. Around here, leadership = loudest. The louder a nurse is, the less others are willing to counter. This proved to be terrible business. Yep, here Loud = right or correct. Our politics should never be brought to work. My opinion. There is Karma.
  15. Yep, it is a little more expensive but theyare so fair. I took statitistics through CCCon-line and really appreciated their system. You can test twice and take the best. Violet
