What is the average pay scale for COTA's in your state & are you happy?
Hi There, I'd also be interested in the major differences between OTA's and PTA's (Physical Therapy Assistants) and if you're happy? I want to start working right away then further my education; hence, the assistant route. Curious if these jobs are even in demand. Thank you in advance! :)

can you be burned out before you finish nursing school?
I haven't even STARTED nursing school and I ALREADY feel burnt out. It was so difficult getting classes, so I had to take classes wherever I could. I just PRAY that God gives me the strength to move forward when I start nursing school in a few months.

Anyone know about lattc nursing program
I received an offer of acceptance and will be starting LATTC's nursing program shortly. It's SO frustrating that no one has responded in length to this post. Either they don't know about this website, or have nothing positive to say. I did find a youtube video which had some graduates talk about their experience. They seemed happy, but then again, they were being filmed and finally MADE IT to graduation! I promise to post some updates once I start their program. Like you, I want to know what to expect. I know their pass rate has improved, and the last I checked, it was 97%; not bad! I just hope the staff is supportive and doesn't berate their students. I know many go through hell unnecessarily, rather than being encouraged and having their confidence built up.

Please don't judge me...I need advice please.
Thanks so much....I'm a firm believer that if you're "where you're supposed to be" in life (generally speaking), God will make a way. Even still, this has been a bone of contention for me! Have a relaxing evening. : )

Please don't judge me...I need advice please.
Hello, I have approx. 4 more classes to take before I can apply to a nursing program next fall. As a teenager, (I am now in my late 30's) I had zero guidance when it came to school, and I had to overcome a lot of obstacles with a dysfunctional family. As a result, I was all over the place when it came to school and I had no direction. My problem is this: As a 16 year-old clueless girl, I took several classes that I should have withdrawn from in order to receive a "W" on my transcript. But because I didn't know you were supposed to do that, I received three F's that are now part of my history. My grades are primarily A's and B's (with a few C's received as a kid), but now I feel like an idiot because I have those "F's" which should have been withdrawals in the first place. To make matters WORSE, (and this is the "don't judge me" part,) when I returned to school as an adult, I attempted to take anatomy THREE TIMES (while working full-time) and EACH AND EVERY TIME I tried, I couldn't complete the class because of my draining schedule. The worst part was, every time I enrolled in anatomy, I withdrew past the last withdrawal date, and guess what? Yup, F's each time. I could have easily given up then and there, but I didn't. So NOW--my circumstances are finally right for me and I'm glad to be back in school. I had to enroll in another community college because of their repeat rule (just for the anatomy class), and I'm taking it now as we speak. As embarrassed as I am by these mistakes, I'm proud of myself for not giving up and having some tenacity. Does anyone know if writing a strong *Nursing School Entrance Essay* will help me get admittance? My fear is that the nursing schools will judge me for this. I'm just looking for some grace at these nursing schools and I'm hopeful that God will make a way for me. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or comments!

What is the first year of nursing school like in ADN program?
I hope to apply to nursing school next fall. I would "like" to get a BSN, but I need to start working right away so I am going to concentrate on getting my Associates Degree in Nursing, first. I'm sure many schools are different, but what can I expect my first year in the nursing program? Is it all course work? Or is there clinical work at the hospital the first year too? Also, is the 2nd year mostly rotations and some classes? I plan on going to an orientation soon, but I am anxious to know what to expect! Thanks so much! P.S. *BONUS Question* ;)What has been your experience if you are a nurse with a AA degree? Do nurses respect you the same way as those with a BSN? (if you are still a good nurse?).

How good at science do you have to be to succeed in this field?
My anatomy instructor told us it's better to take 4 years if you have to and get *all A's*, then to try and "finish quickly" and barely pass with C's. He's a PHD and told us the clinical programs are VERY competitive right now and some schools won't even look at you if you have less than a B in any of your core classes or (gasp, like me) have repeats. So, my advice to myself (many years back) would have been to take ONE class ONLY and just concentrate on that one class to get the highest grade possible.

Distal/Proximal...so confused!
NOW that makes sense.... I didn't know if those term were referencing a general point of attachment (which would still be confusing), or if the TORSO is meant as a reference (with everything) when using the terms Proximal & Distal. Thanks for the clear reply!

Distal/Proximal...so confused!
Hi, Now I AM confused! Is the wrist distal to the hand? or proximal? And why is it that answer. (with respect to point of origin) Thank you!!
