  1. I used the resources I already had. The info for pharm is going to be recall. Know drug classes and what they are for, also wise to learn most imprtant side effects of each class. I went to pharmacist for help and I felt confident in my knowledge. I didnt know many of the drugs but using the endings and remembering when and what they were helped me alot. Good Luck!
  2. Thank you! I checked the MQA site Monday after and its OFFICIAL! I have a license number!!! This site is awesome for the support and advice. Thank you everyone!
  3. :yeah:CONGRADULATIONS! I did mine on the third time and fear of failure is hard. I also prayed alot as well as my family! IT CAN BE DONE! I had access to ATI and thought for content review it was awesome because it gave instant feedback and rationals. Again, congrats! I know how happy you are!!!
  4. Congradualtions! I know the pain of the wait!!! They hit me with the same questions only I had alot of ped drug calc and conversions. SATA's and alternates! I did 265 also and finally passed! Way to GO!
  5. Ok, I failed the Nclex 2 times before and re-took it yesterday morning. I had been studying all summer and got all 265 questions. My nerves were frayed! I used my break and used the elimiation system that Kaplan recomends. I had half alternate style questions and SATA's! When I finished, I was nauseous and not sure how I felt about the exam. On my way home, I had my sister do the PVT and I got the good pop up!! WOO HOO! I just want to say the test was very difficult and there is no way to know everything on the exam, however, I think using the elimination method really helped. I graduated in May and really felt I could only review at this point, most of my knowledge I already had. I did ATI for content review, and Mosbys. I search the internet for sample questions. (and prayed alot)! Good Luck to everyone taking the exam! You can do it! I was a paramedic and did the transition class in 1 year, so I had alot to learn in a short time! I wish everyone the best for the new year!!
  6. That is so true! Got to keep moving forward!
  7. I have taken the nclex 2 times and am waiting on approval for my 3rd! I am also in the same boat, I refuse to get depressed as most of the things I saw on my exam were not what I learned in school but how to figure things out. This time I am using all the resources I can for pratice tests and trying to find things with harder than usual questions. I sail through ATI and Lippicotts but Kaplans seems to me to be the closest to the questions on the actual exam. I wish you well, we will all get there!! I have to pass this time or I go to remediation before another attempt. I did well in school and am an above average student, so I am going with testing strategy and being able to pay attention after sitting for an extended time while testing. I think this is the biggest problem for me as I get bored sitting still. I am working on endurance so I can answer any question like it is the first one!! You will do fine, keep studying!!!
  8. Sounds like you have a great plan! I will be filling out my re app as well. I cannot afford KAPLANS either but did get the book from the library. I did Mosbys but I felt it had too much on Mom & Baby. Def do priority, I saw alot of those too and know your drugs and herbals.....Most of the questions I find are alot easier than the actual NCLEX so I have ATI from school still and have been reviewing that for reinforcement of systems and drugs. I also have a had time sitting doing questions for long periods, so I am re-training myself to take more breaks. I think when we over study we lose alot. Also, try going back to basics, like nursing process and critical thinking from your books, this seems to have things I really dont remember from school! Wow! and yes, we will do it!
  9. I am a transition student from Paramedic to RN and can help if you'd like. First, learn basics....V-fib, normal sinus, bradycardia, and tachycardia. Asystole-flat line.....search out cardic strips....and look for ones with pictures and a brief explaination. Remember, a normal strip should have a p, q,r,s,t. I hope this helps, anymore questions, feel free to ask. I will look and see what links I can find for you. (remember also, some pts have weird strips but that is thier baseline, you need to ask yourself if they are symtomatic too) Good-Luck!
  10. I understand LuckieLadie, I am not sure about the quick results, however, I felt I was strong in some areas such as pharm and psych and the management of care got me this time. I will continue to studay all areas, and as you know, we get things you have never seen that studying just doesn't cover. I wish you the best, I haven't re-applied yet but let me know how it goes. :) We will get thru this!!!!
  11. In Florida, I recieved my results by mail in 2 weeks, and I agree, keep studying!
  12. Good Luck! I took it the second time last week and had 265 and felt really good about the exam, however, I failed again. My classmate also took her exam and did 265 questions and she failed as well. At least it took the computer that long to decide. I am really not sure what I am doing wrong, I did Kaplans and the state course, but I will not give up!
