  1. Lol ppl keep asking me the same thing as well! Its very furstrating! They also start assuming I know things, like I'm already a RN!! Ugh... They don't understand I'm a "PRE" Nursing Student (BSN) lol. But for me I have some ways to go!! I'm starting fresh and will be going to school full time every semester till I'm ready for NS. This summer I'm taking 4 classes, this fall 5, next spring 5, so I'll be very busy! The rate I'm going I should be in Nursing School by Spring 2012! Which really isnt that far away. Also I'm working full time (40 hours) at night to top it off. Thank God I dont have any kids! My roommates will be in Pharmacy & Engineering School by the time I'm in Nursing School, were going to be busy busy busy studying. I'm already tired of my pre-reqs but when I think about the future, it quicky reminds me of where I want to be. Don't give up!!! Stick with it
  2. This summer I'm taking English, College Alg, Soci, and Nutri... the rate I'm going I'll be ready for Nursing School Spring 2012!! My summer will be VERY busy, however I need to stay occupied. I also plan on taking 5 classes this fall, I really need to bump up my GPA since I'm currently at a 3.0 My best friends (ROOMMATES) will be in Pharmacy & Engineering School by the time I'm in Nursing School. Were all going to be super busy studying!! So excited
  3. Hello guys! I'm suppose to conduct a formal informational interview with a RN , I spoke with my professor and he said it was okay to post my questions on here as long as its coming from a real nurse! I didnt want to have to go to a hospital and annoy some RN with all my questions ! So I just listed them all any feedback will help!! What skills are most important to be successful as a RN? What personal characteristics do you look for in a candidate seeking work as a RN? What type of work is performed by a RN in your facility? What type of orientation or on the job training is given to new employees? What is your best advice for someone who is interested in becoming a RN? What learning and promotional opportunities are available for professionals who work in this field? What are the typical duties of an RN? What percentage of the day is spent on each duty? Describe a typical day. How many patients do you see in one day? How many test do you perform? How many reports do you transcribe? How much independent decision making is required? What is most challenging about your work? What is the most satisfying about your work? Thank you guys for your help!!
  4. UGH can't wait for my first test!!!!! Super excited!!!
  5. Hello!! I too was nervous on my first day last week, and your right it is all about memorization, but I started making flashcards as soon as my professor started giving out notes. Thank God for Blackbored! This class don't seem like its going to be hard just alot of studying. But I did purchase the A&P Study Group 101 and A&P for dummies which both are great to have. Just remember were all in this together!!!! Let's try to make this class fun!
  6. Hello! I'm currently taking A&P as well, and so far making flashcards seem to be my strength. This class seems to be all about memorization, just find your best way to study for memorization. I bought the A&P for Dummies book along with the A&P Study Group 101 which both are great to have. Just remember your not the only one taking this class this semester, were all in this together!
  7. Hello! I'm taking anatomy this semester as well and I'm super excited. Months ago I did my research on this class and seen how many students had trouble in the class.. It made me nervous! So I went out and bought Anatomy & Physiology study group 101 and A&P for dummies, and started reviewing some of the material. I also chose my professor by checking out the reviews on ratemyprofessor, happy I did because so far he makes our class very entertaining! I realize my strength when it comes to studying for memorization is flashcards. I'm not into the coloring books or text books. Just find the best way you like to study and stick with it! Remember this class is all about memorization! Just keep in mind were in this together, and this is one step closer to our future.
  8. Wow.. yeah............ Lol... Havent even started my pre reqs yet but all I need is 3 classes A & P, English, and Psycology to get into my nursing program. So Im gonna suck it up and not give up! :rckn::anpom:
