  1. In my opinion Hurst was a lot more helpful than Kaplan. Kaplan questions were very difficult, and the priority questions were similar to Kaplan. They were just easier. To me NCLEX was similar to ATI!
  2. It is not! I'll post the job with the pay. Y'all need to stop selling this young lady false dreams telling her LPN's make the amount y'all are saying.
  3. It's like 13-15 per hour here in NC
  4. They send them out during spring break. I was accepted in 2013 one more semester left
  5. I am a senior BSN nursing student and I chose nursing because of my caregiving nature. I got into my nursing program because of my GPA and verbal SAT score. At the time I applied to nursing school my gpa was around a 3.95. Nursing school is hard because there are no text book answers. You have to critically think through each scenario and look at each patient differently. Hope that helps :)
  6. Even though you were not speaking to me directly Ruby Vee I will really like to thank you for the advice. When I do become a nurse next year I will definitely keep what you said in mind.
  7. There are a LOT of bullies on this forum ignore them you do not owe them any explanations
  8. Yah Jasmine you have a long but rewarding journey ahead of you
  9. Thanks everyone and congrats to you all
  10. Yes the best advice I can give you is to read your chapters and study everyday. If not you'll get behind. You have to have a set schedule because you'll have exams flying at you like a bat out of hell. Most importantly take some time for yourself it will help you to stay motivated
  11. I'm so happy our first semester is over 1 down 4 to go. For some reason our BSN program has 5 semesters and you have to complete 2 nursing classes before you're even accepted into the upper division. The summer was very rigorous with health assessment plus lab, clinical nursing foundations plus clinical, and pharmacology. We went from 120 to 96 already. I'm proud to be among the 96 that made it through this summer. Next semester which starts in a couple of weeks I'll be taking adult 1/med-surg 1, pathophysiology, and clinical reasoning.
  12. Cfnc fels loans are given to nursing students and you don't have to fill out a fasfa. You are not required to pay the loan back if you work in the state you received the loan. So if you received the loan for 2 years then you will have to work in that state for 2 years. Hope that helps
  13. Lol!!!! That was too funny but that's exactly what I did! Thanks everyone for the great advice!
  14. Guys I got into my first choice nursing program so what's next? How did you guys celebrate?
  15. Well have you ever been to college before and if so have you completed your prerequisites for the nursing program. With most schools there is a different application to the upper division of nursing, but they usually require 2-3 years of prerequisites first. Hope I helped.
  16. Thanks guys for answering my post I was just curious of others people's emotions before turning in their NS application. Anyways good luck to everyone and I hope that you guys are wishing me good luck as well
  17. What was your excitement/anxiety level when you turned in your nursing application. I'm excited about what's to come, but nervous about how nursing school will be. I heard that it is very time consuming and that worries me a bit being that I have children.
  18. Well with nursing it's different you will have to physically touch other people and deal with others on a daily basis. It just seems kind of crazy to me to see people (and I mean all kinds of people) putting up racist and offensive statuses on Facebook yet says they want to be a nurse.
  19. There is a lot I can say perhaps I hit a button when I posted this message. You guys are taking this way too personal.
  20. Please do everyone a favor and don't become a nurse if you don't deal well with diversity. Thanks in advance..
