actually, I did reported yesterday when i went back to work. I learn from my mistake. I'm a human being also and I have feelings. I'm a newly graduate and just didn't know what step should I take. I'm sure some of the new graduate out there made mistake. Even Nurses who have many years of experience still make mistakes.

thanks to all the replys.. Today i went to work and the patient did come back for dialysis. I also recheck to heparin vial and the label reads 50,000units/10ml in big writting and 5,000units/1ml in smaller writting. Today we did monthly lab draw on all of the patients. so the patient did get her lab drawn today. What had happen made me more aware when doing the procedure. I have learn from my mistake not to talk and pay attention to what i'm doing.

the vials is 50,000 units/1ml... the patient port read 1.7cc on the venous line and arterial line. Therefore, 50,000units/1mlX 1.7ml= 85,000 units on each port right? Yes, this heparin is use to instill into her port after dialysis. Untill when she comes back we need to withdraw it out of the port and then flush with the port with saline before connect her to dialysis. while i was distracted by another nurse, i totally forgot to withdraw it. I could not sleep because i don't know what to do. I'm a new nurse. I just recently graduated and still on trainning. the reason why i'm not sure if i did withdraw the heparin or not is because i feel i miss the first step.. which is drawing the heparin out of the port before instilling the saline..

Please please please help everyone.... Okay, I was working on a saturday in dialysis. One of the patient with end stage kidney disease came in set down and I was assessing her. After assessing her other nurse came to say hello to the patient because she is our new patient at our facility. This is her 2nd day with us. After assessment I was going to draw the heparin out of her PC line so i can flush her with saline and connect her to the dialyzer machine. instead, i got distracted by other nures.. I was chatting and forgot to draw the heparin out of the PC line arterial and venous line. I flush the line with saline and have connected the patient to the dialyzer machine then realize that i forgot to withdraw the heparin. oops! I was scared.. I wasn't sure if i did or not. I was confused. I did not tell anyone. The patient did not have any symptoms of reaction or side effect after 3 hours of dialysis. her blood pressure was stable. The heparin sodium was 50,000 units/1ml. so in the PC line was 1.7CC so that means 85,000units on each line that i flush with saline into the pc line. I'm so scare.. i dont know what to do. I'm thinking should i quite this job? I'm hoping to see the patient again in her next treatment because if i dont see her that means there is something going on with her and she might end up in the hospital. i'm so scare. i dont know what to do. please help.. i need advice. i dont know what is the right thing to do right now.

Thank you everyone for keeping me in your prayers. I just pass my nclex exam. I am so happy. i'm now a RN. This website has helpped me a lot. I went up to 75 question and the computer shot off and I was so scare that I'm not going to pass again because the first time i took it went up to 75 question also. I had 2 picture question: 1 picture had a question select all apply and 1 picture was teaching to pt. I also have about 8 or 9 select all apply question. maybe 5 or 6 medication.. 1 drag into the box-put inorder. and the rest is priorty questions. I thought i wasnt going to pass. Thanks to god for being there to guide me. thanks everyone

okay this morning my status just change to got a good pop up.. i'm so so happy. the pop up says i cannot register at this time and for me to contact member of board. i just hope its good news.

But like what everyone been saying "contact the board for further instruction" i didnt get that pop up. i'm very scare. i just hope its a good pop up.. i cant wait until tomorrow.

did you get your result yet? I just took my on oct 1st too. still havent got my result. I try to reregister and it says that my result are being hold and another register cannot be made at this time. I'm not sure if mine say the samething as yours too or not. i didnt a good pop up or get to pay to reregister again so i'm confuse. i call the brn and they say result are sent out 2 to 4 wks. i guess i would have to wait. did you get your result yet?

Help! help! I just took the nclex today and the status says successfully deliver and i try to reregister again and it didnt let me. there is a pop up saying "the candidate currently has test result that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time." what does that mean? help help! i'm nervous... i'm scare.. i'm going to cry...

Please please pray for me. My nclex is tomorrow. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. :redbeathe:heartbeat:redbeathe:heartbeat I hope my heart rate doesn't increase. thanks, my test is coming up next week and i just cant wait to retake it again because i've been practicing a lot of question and going over the content material so i hope this time I will pass. also good luck to you on your next retake and think positive. take deep breath.. relax and have a clear mind before you take the exam.

As for my result. It took almost 3 week to get my result. I didnt pass the first time too and am going to retake it again next 2week. right now i'm just doing as much question as i can. I would have to say i'm doing at least 300 question perday.

Help! My nclex is coming up soon in 2 weeks and i've been doing a lot of practice question. But I want to know how to do an educated guess on some of the questions I dont know. i'm so nervous because this will be my second time taking the nclex. I hate the feeling of not passing because it's so embarrassing to let the family and friend know. is there any nclex book that have question almost similar to the nclex? anyone want to share..please!!

thanks.. As for now should I keep practicing more question or should I study the nclex books? it's true that I'm not going everything. My score on the nclex showing that I need to work on management and safety. I thought i did good on it but actually it was my weakest so how do I improve on these two areas?

I didn't pass the nclex the first time:mad:. I will be retaking it on Nov. 1. I don't know what to do in the next few weeks except practicing questions. What is the best way to study for this test. I just couldnt understand why some people does poorly in school did well on nclex and some people did well in school couldn't pass and thats me. I don't know what else I should do.. need advice. I've done kaplan review and saunders question but i didnt pass. what am I missing?
