wants to be a telemetry nurse
Hi! I work as a RN at a med/surg floor right now and is thinking about moving up to a telemetry department after one year. Im interested in doing CCU in the future and I think tele will be a good starting point. :redbeathe What do I need to do to be ready for the responsibilities of a tele RN? I only know basic EKG reading, not to mention I am not very good and familiar with it but I am definitely very much willing to learn. Can someone please give me a clear picture of what tele nurses specificaly do in their units? And what I need to brush up on before even applying for this position? Can you suggest a book that I can read on? Im still scared about jumping from med/surg to tele with only one year of med/surg experience but I want this so bad... Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated...

Will you hire a nurse w/o reference letter?
Hi! Ask your clinical instructors or your dean of nursing for a referal letter. That's what my friend from California did. He is a foreign grad.

Needs RN job in Prattville/Montgomery area
thanks for the reply. I have tried applying online in other medical facilities and no replies. I'm new to this area too so I don't really know where to go to apply by walk-in or even to go there for inquiries even. I would be glad to work on any area/s available. I was looking up hospitals, home care, hospice and nursing homes but some of them don't have websites. I guess I should go to them in person. Do you by any chance have any medical facilities in mind? thanks a lot!

Needs RN job in Prattville/Montgomery area
Hi! I should be receiving my temporary RN license this week while waiting on my permanent license from endorsement. I live in Prattville now from Tucson, Arizona. I have been trying to apply at Jackson Hospital, Baptist Health-Prattvile etc and still not one has even contacted me about my application. I have 3 years RN medical-surgical experience out-of-country and a recent 1 yr 3 mos experience as a LPN in Canada. Does anyone know of any hospital/medical facility who has job openings? Basicaly do you know of any medical facility which which you think will accept my qualifications? I'm getting really worried about this whole job hunting situation... I have only tried applying online, will going to their HR offices help? I really need your feedback on this. Thanks a lot.

RN salaries in Montgomery, AL
Awww... Im sorry about that.. I am really anxious about this move. My 3 year medical-surgical RN experience was in another country and my being a LPN in Canada for more than a year doesnt make any difference in my RN work experience I guess.. Is it that hard to find RN jobs out there..? Now IM really worried..

RN salaries in Montgomery, AL
Hi! Thanks for the reply. So I assume you know RNs in the Montgomery area and this is their salary range? It is really low as to what I was expecting. A little discouraging but oh well I still love my job and relocation is due to a military order for my husband so I guess I dont have much of a choice. Are you working as a RN now?

will relocate to Montgomery AL and is concerned....
Im back guys. Our relocation is moving close! 2 more weeks... And Im getting really antsy. Does anyone here knows what the salary range for RNs in Montgomery area is? I have been to many RN job interviews and offers here in Tucson AZ (which I apparently turned down due to the upcoming move to AL) and I notice that they ask how much I was wanting as salary per hour. Since I know some RN people here I gave the range of what they were getting here. I dont know anyone from Alabama and searching for it in google gives me different answers. I had 3 years RN experience outside of the US and 1 year LPN experience in Canada. It will be very helpful if Alabama RNs can give me an idea of the salary range specificaly Montgomery if any one knows. It will be very helpful! Thank you very much!

will relocate to Montgomery AL and is concerned....
Hi! I will surely try my luck with the BAptist Health facilities. I hope their hiring process won't be a difficult one. When did you graduate by the way? :) And are you working now? You''re classmate was lucky to have gotten a job right away. My friend from California who is a new grad has been waiting for almost 6 months now and still haven't received any job offer from the places where he applied. Maybe because there are a lot of RNs in Cali already so competition is tough. Hopefuly there will be many jobs for RNs in Montgomery.

will relocate to Montgomery AL and is concerned....
Hi! Thanks for the info. Yes the VA is definitely one of my top choices. I checked their website and it tells me to call the local number in Montgomery so I will be doing that soon. That will really be nice if I can keep my compact RN license you know in case we get orders to move somewhere in the future. The license endorsement is one tough process especialy for internationally eductaed nurses .
