  1. Hi! I am currently in Prattville and will start finding a RN job soon. I will be looking into Baptist Health. Where are you working? This is my first account by the way, I couldn't log in using iamlvp2. Hope to hear from you! :)
  2. Hi! I was wondering if you already got a RN job? We are already here in Prattville. :)
  3. Thanks for replying! Yeah I might do just that, foregoing the health benefits since I already have mine through my husband's who's in the military. Hopefuly they allow it. I have been considering Jackson Hospital. I think it is a good place to work also based on what you said. Do you know if they are hiring? Sometimes they would post job openings but not hire people soon. You're lucky to be working in a big hospital like Jackson's. :)
  4. Hi! What's the rate for RNs in Montgomery, AL? Does it even reach $30/hour? I have 3 yrs experience outside of the US as RN and 1 yr experience as LPN. Relocating there soon and doesn't even have an idea of how the job market is doing in that area for RNs. I hope it won't be too hard to land a RN job in Montgomery.
  5. Hi! I hold an active RN license from New Mexico and is now processing for license endorsement to Alabama. My husband will be stationed in Montgomery, AL so we will have to move by October of this year. By saying that, I was wondering on how RN employment is in Montgomery? I was Medical/Surgical RN in my home country for 3 years and 7 months until 2008, after which I moved to Canada on January of 2009 and worked as a LPN for more than a year. I recently moved to Tucson, AZ 4 months ago. I was just prepping myself, submitting applications to medical facilities here when we got the news. And now, I can't deny that I am a bit concerned. I do not know anyone from Alabama so I was wondering if you can help me out. Can anyone give me an idea of how job openings are in Montgomery, will be difficult to land a position? Insight on how or where to start looking for a RN position there? I do not mind working at a nursing/respite/hospice home initially. Ideas please.... This will be greatly appreciated! Have a great day everyone!
  6. Hi! Thanks for the info. I worked at a Daily Assisted Living Center in Canada and we do not practice IV insertion because after assessment we send the residents to the hospital where they're given medical care. We only did clysis as fluid therapy. So even with my certificate for IV, I really want to practice doing insertions again, I'm losing the skill. So most possibly, practicing with other healthcare providers will be helpful. Do you know of any programs for IV Training here in Tucson? Do you think the schools have that? Thank you very much! :)
  7. Hi everyone! I'm new here in the US from Canada. I currently live in Tucson and looking into getting my IV Certification here in the US, since what I have from Canada is not credited. Is anybody here from Tucson? I do not know any RNs from this place so I honestly have no one to ask for info about it. I also tried to research through the net but couldn't find anything. Can anyone help me on where to go for the IV training? It usually is a 3-day training. Please let me know, it will be greatly appreciated!
