Kentucky NP'S?
What part of Kentucky will you be working? I start Vandy this fall also and will work in Ky after graduation. Ky NP's fought hard last year for the right to prescribe schedule 2-5 narcs but ultimately were turned down due to the fact that Ky has a high substance abuse record and the thought was they didn't want NPs fueling this. Although, many sources say that Ky NP's would have this ability within 2-3 yrs. Good luck...

Vanderbilt for MSN?
Not really answering your question but I has accepted into two FNP programs Eastern Kentucky University, which would have took 6 semesters and Vanderbilt, which will take three semesters. I decided to attend Vanderbilt and I start this August! The time factor at Vandy was the deciding factor for me.. Good luck!!

FNP Admissions
Just curious if being male is a positive when applying for a NP program? In regards to increasing diversity in the field. I do not want to turn this into male vs. female post, just wanting some opinions. I am supposed to here from Vanderbilt this month in regards to admission.

can someone explain to me
Ep71 I have spoken personally to the staff of vandy and they seemed very confident that I would have a very good chance of getting in! Not being sexest, but being male in a female dominated profession doesn't hurt.. And the cost makes no difference to me I have a MD paying for the whole thing; but thanks for your reply anyway...

can someone explain to me
Most schools are 2yrs after you have your BSN. Vanderbilt, in nashville tn, has a one year program after BSN. Oh, and you're never to old to further your education. I started out as a CNA then LPN, then ADN RN, I have one year left on my BSN, then off to vandy I go for my FNP. I'm 27 years old so good luck.....
