  1. Why stop there? Why not just identify which specific migrant community astronauts to greener pastures? When did one nations' plans rely on immigrants only and not on its citizens? "Racist" is a term used to define people who subscribes to an illogical belief that one culture or color of skin is superior to all other. Racists are notorious in North America and are now experiencing a resurgence especially now that their Emperor Trump has come into power. From what I have experienced and seen on this thread for the past 5 years. It seems there are a lot of "racists" in this thread who have lurked here for a long time have now come out into the open. You guys should really be concerned more in making sure that the ideals of multiculturalism in Canada will be alive and well rather than making other races feel inferior that their parents or grandparents migrated a generation or two later than yours did.
  2. Meanwhile in Quebec...
  3. Hi Jonna. I've been thinking the same thing too. I'd probably call the OIIQ office next week about this.
  4. They won't directly hire you unless you're already a registered nurse in Canada. Work on your immigration first or work visa and then register as a nurse once you come here. That's what I've been doing. Good luck to you!
  5. Wait for FSW to open. QSW requires you to stay in Quebec and not use it as a backdoor to Canada. If you want to apply as a QSW nurse then prepare to stay here in Quebec because you'd be legally obligated to stay in the province (or nation, as they like to call it) as their skilled worker and not Alberta's or any other province.
  6. Let's see. Student visa application process (CAQ) + Permanent resident application after a year in Quebec(CSQ + Canadian PR) would take you at least 3 years vs. Permanent resident application in BIQ-HK and Canadian Embassy Manila that would take about a year. Yeah, I'd take PR application in the Philippines anytime.
  7. Students have been protesting for months now here in Montreal due to the proposed increase to tuition fees. If you guys have the experience then you should've applied as skilled workers so that you'd already be immigrants when you land here in Quebec and you won't have to raise that amount of money.
  8. I've already received your message. I'd answer your questions there since this thread concerns only about registration of International Nurses in Quebec and not the immigration part. @RNurse22 I've submitted my application on Dec 2010. Got my visa after a year.
  9. @mademoiselle michele I think your questions are a bit off topic. I think I have answered some of your concerns on my previous posts so you can just read them. You can search for interview tips for immigration on other forums that focuses on these topics too. Good luck on your application and have a great day!
  10. If you're looking for tips for how to migrate to Quebec then I'd probably recommend that you register on Immigration forums like canadavisa or pinoy2canada. Good luck!
  11. Miasat is the only Filipino I know who's ever been there and have registered to OIIQ. Ask her for more details or search for her previous posts in other threads. It is very useful and it will provide you a good idea on how to register to OIIQ.
  12. @rafaeltoney Even if you can apply for NOC 3011, it isn't in the priority list for Federal Skilled Worker class in Canada. Wait for the NOC 3152 to open up in July and then apply for that. Even if you are a head nurse in your country, you'd still start as a staff nurse in Canada without a license to practice.
  13. @pucca1988You can try getting a visa and try to register there in Montreal. You got a lot of questions for someone who's planning to migrate. I hope you did your research before you took the jump. Good luck!
  14. Hello tincy. Have you applied for OIIQ yet? Do you already have a visa or are you an immigrant who is in Quebec right now?
  15. ^ I think that's a little bit off topic but they'll mostly ask you about Quebec culture and your plans on how to migrate to Quebec. From there they'll gauge whether you'll be a good candidate as a resident in Quebec. Good luck!
  16. They didn't ask for my payslip(s) but they will ask you if you have the documents that will serve as proof to your work experience. I brought a copy of my contract and some recommendation letters from my employers. I also had my income tax records so you should bring it to your interview. I haven't submitted my OIIQ application just yet until I receive my visa but once I do I'll send them the required documents to start the registration.
  17. @charmzele There are a few pros and cons if you're still trying to choose to apply or not but I think it is better to apply now as a QSW while you are in the Philippines.
  18. It depends really. There are no fixed timelines for this but it can go as fast as four months. I've got mine after around nine months.
  19. Yes they did ask me some questions in french to test your level of comprehension and ability to speak the language. If you're applying as a QSW you'll probably be invited for an interview in Hong Kong. I already have my CSQ and I'm now just waiting for my visa.
  20. I think you're better off using the [email protected] e-mail rather than directly e-mailing individuals in the OIIQ. That is the official e-mail stated in their website and it would be proper to use it in communicating with them. Good luck!
  21. Almost everyone gets interviewed in Hong Kong (if you're from the Philippines). You'd only be exempted from the interview if you've proven that you're fluent in french and have submitted proof of your language proficiency. I've been interviewed in Hong Kong and have seen other Filipinos also invited for the interview. Good luck!
  22. @nicole Well a couple of immigration agencies also are trying to offer CAQ for studies to other nursing students since they won't be required any work experience for them to be approved. I already got my CSQ for QSW. I'm now applying for the federal level and I hope I can get my immigrant visa soon enough. Have you already taken the OIIQ exam and the french exam?
  23. Hi nicole0214! :) Thanks for the information. A lot of our kababayans would truly benefit from this. i don't know if you've noticed but there's a sudden influx of Filipinos now choosing Quebec as their destination because the Federal Skilled Worker level cap has now been reached. Good luck on your career there and I hope to see you in Montreal too. :)
  24. @ceridwyn Wow. I can't imagine being told by the police to stop speaking your native language with a fellow countryman. Must've been really awful. @charlie19 and fiona59 Thanks guys! That's why I'm trying to really improve my french. So when I'd get there I'd be ready to mingle with other people and not be told off by the police that I can't speak English or Filipino with my friends or family. I still think it's worth the trouble to learn another beautiful language for me to be able to stay there.
  25. @Ginger's Mom Who says we'll be using Tagalog to speak to French Canadians? Don't worry though, maybe I can't speak any form of proper french right now but I'm gonna make sure I'd be ready when the time comes for me to register there. Thanks for the advice.
