New Graduate jobs in MD,VA,DC areas
Have you completed the online applications along with sending your resume and cover letter? If not I would strongly encourage you do so. I am a NEW NEW grad at WHC and I think they do another residency program in July. So keep an eye out for the jopb listing to pop up on their website. Also try Georgetown and Sibley Hospitals in DC, I believe they are doing a residency in July as well.

Im going through orientation now and it is Monday thru Friday, 7am to 3:30 pm. We went thru two full weeks but I it was originally only supposed to be T,W,Th, F of the first week and M, T of the second week. We end up having classes/training that following Wed and Thursday due to the pending strike. As they dis not want us on the unit just yet b/c they were training the replacement nurses at that time.

Switching from a MD license to a DC license
All completed! Very quick and easy process compared to everything else we have been through. I even lucked up with finding parking at each place! It took me about 2 hours including dropping everything off at WHC. So glad that's over with. Ashnem: I hope everything works out for you. I would call every number listed.

Switching from a MD license to a DC license
I agree!!! This has been a crazy process and it's still not complete yet, lol! I am confused about the fingerprints as well. When I talked to someone he said everything could be done in the same day then someone else said make an appt. IDK what to think/do. I guess i'll call DC BON early Monday and see what they say, if not I'll go elsewhere and get my fingerprints done and then return to BON. Hopefully everything runs smoothly for us at this last leg of the race!

Switching from a MD license to a DC license
WOW!! I wonder if they looked over my name. I completed my background check about a month ago and tested on the 2nd. Hopefully my license number will be posted tomorrow so that I can go to DC BON Thursday or Friday as well. How did you get in contact with anyone? I have called every number possible.

Switching from a MD license to a DC license
I tested on the 2nd and as of today, the 7th I still do not have a license number. Trying to get in contact with anyone at MBON is like pulling teeth. I called various numbers today, left messages, and sent emails asking if the process could be expidited. Hopefully I'll hear from someone tomorrow. I'm concerned and I have a week so I can only imagine how you are feeling. Maybe you should contact the board and explain your situation and see if they can do anything to help with the short amount of time you have. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Switching from a MD license to a DC license
Ashnem Im in the same situation as you with needing my license switched over ASAP after taking the NCLEX next week. I test on 2/2 and need a DC license by 2/15. I called the DC BON and I was told that we would need to be re-fingerprinted in DC (waste of money, I know). The total cost for endorsment in DC will cost $310 which includes $30 fee to use an online verification system. They will issue us a temporary license that will alow us to work until the results of our background check come through. Hope this helped somewhat.

Need to change license application state- stressed, help!
Futurern123 I am in the same situation as you once were. Applied for my license in MD and end up getting a job in DC. What did you end up having to do and how did everything work out? Thx for your help!

Switching from a MD license to a DC license
I have an issue...I applied to be licensed in MD, everything went through and I am waiting to take the NCLEX in a week. However, I was just offered a position in DC. I am wondering how would I go about switcing over to a DC license. Should I just wait until after I have passed the NCLEX next week (fingers crossed)? Is that what applying for endorsement means?

What's up with the Nursing Board - Just hangs up!?
The Md board of nursing is crazy! You have to call inside lines to actually get to speak with someone. Here is the website I used: http://www.mbon.org/main.php?v=norm&p=0&c=contact.html I would just call the different numbers even if it doesn't apply to your situation and at least you can get transfered.

BSN Equivalent
I believe that in order to enter a MSN program you have to have a BSN. Some programs have dual BSN/MSN programs.
