My former classmate's panel interview was supposed to be last Sept 9 but it was cancelled. She told me that "maybe" the following interview schedules will be moved. I am scheduled on October.. I hope it will not be moved. Fortunately, I have a new job as a staff nurse in a tertiary hospital near our home. I am employed just recently. Thank God.. But, if PGH will call me in the future for my deployment, I will definitely transfer there. GodBless to all..

As of now, no. Wait for DNRD's announcement.

It's not a requirement to be a graduate of those schools. It just so happened that those schools are the only affiliated schools in PGH so there's a little "bias" as what others are saying. But that is not the sole determinant of the application process... Everyone should undergo the same process.

Yes. I know some of your batchmates there in PGH. One of them helped me. I have even met some of your batchmates when I took the NPE because they took the exam with me... Some people in your batch are working in PLM now. I was a freshman when you were a senior. I know a few people in your batch because your batch had the largest number of graduates. I remembered the tarpaulin in the school's facade when you took your board exam back then. hehehe..

Hi.. Some say that there will be questions about nursing procedures and personal questions too. Think positive.. we will pass! I believe you can make it.. I've known someone who is also not a graduate of PLM, St. Paul and UP.. she said that there were nursing procedures asked to her but she managed to answer it. Fortunately, she passed the interview. We all have the chance to be part of the premiere tertiary hospital equally. I am a graduate of one of the schools mentioned above but I also feel the same as yours.. We are on the same boat.. I am scheduled on October 21... Lets's hope and pray for the best!

@Gambutrol: Wow! You're a PLMayer too! When did you graduated? 2005 or 2006? Know what, other PLM nurses in PGH also say that I don't have to worry too much because of the school preference since we had our clinical rotations there. If that's the case, I should be very thankful to our Alma Mater. I'll prepare for it no matter what. That's a chance of a lifetime! hahaha.. I'll be very happy to share PGH toxicities with you fellow PLMayer.

@Gambutrol: Yes, I'm a graduate of one of those schools you have mentioned above.. (PLM ). Thank you for your kindness in giving me an overview of the interview. You give me a relief. I hope that I will be able to pass it! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Accidentally, I have seen the breakdown of overall score for the Nurse entry-level position (Take Note: ACCIDENTALLY).. the biggest chunk is Educational Achievement (NPE, GWA and Board Rating) which stands for 65% of the total score. What should be the overall passing grade?

@UbersupeRN: I know PGH will come up for another NPE in the future. I just don't know when. I passed my NPE which I took last June 2010.. An advice I can give to you is to continue to pray (this really works!) and have a positive attitude (as the saying goes: Whatever the mind can conceive, the mind and body can achieve). You already know what's the content of the NPE so more or less, the next time you take the NPE you'll be able to answer it swiftly. If ever they will change the questions in the exam, I know that it isn't going to be over difficult since they are only measuring the basic knowledge a registered nurse should have. I know in God's time you'll also pass the NPE eventually. GodBless... Nweiz, GAMBUTROL please give me some tips about the panel interview. hehehe. Thank you! =D I'm quite nervous! I hope to get pass it with flying colors. I really hope to see Ma'am Tamse again for the final interview. There are only two instances where I was able to talk to her: 1st, during our orientation for my clinical rotation in PGH during college. 2nd, when I went to her office to get my Minor and Major PRC cases signed by her for the board exam..she even asked me if she looks like a lawyer. ahaha. I hope and pray, the 3rd time I'll be talking to her is during my final interview for staff nurse. May God Bless us all!

PGH feedback
hi, i just passed the npe given last june 2010. i am bound to take the panel interview.. for those who have undergone the panel interview, please give me some tips about it. please.. =) it was so hard to land a slot for the npe... it is like falling in line for a game show/ audition. as in! luckily, i had the chance to take the exam and passed it too. it is really a dream for me to work @ the pgh since i had my clinical rotations there when i was in college (i am not a up grad. my school is just lucky to be included on the 2 nursing schools that is affiliated there aside from up). i know that it is really patience that i need for my employment there. reading some of the posts in this thread makes me feel inspired.
