  4. Starting the applications for 2012!

You're welcome. I applied and was accepted to the U of A as well. I did not accept the offer because it offers a "problem based learning" teaching style. From what I've read, it wasn't for me. Do check for yourself though.
  5. Starting the applications for 2012!

Hi Mati I think the GPA to get in for Jan was around 3.3-3.4 minimum in your last 30 credits. The first part of the program has been a bit frustrating as it begins with community nursing instead of acute. I can't speak to acute yet as we're starting ...

TanFran, WOOT! BC girl. =D Yeah, I have very poor scam radar so I figured my best bet would be try and get a room on campus at least until I'm a bit more Calgary-savy. I am also not terribly cold tolerant but I figure with enough pairs of Long Johns ...

  10. Hello Everyone, I recently found out I was accepted into the University of Alberta's After Degree Nursing program to begin in January 2012. I've read some older posts about their CBL learning and been a bit discouraged but was wondering if anyone ha...
  11. UAlberta After Degree Nursing January 2012

@Petethecanuck Thanks! Turns out as of Tuesday I was accepted into Calgary after all. I'm pretty happy about this as I was uncertain about how I would fair in a CBL program although it sounsd like it could a very effective tool for some learning type...
  12. University of Calgary

Hey RNstudent2013, I suppose 3.85 is the average rather than the minimum but even then, that's quite the GPA. CONGRATS on getting in with competition like that. =D =D Good luck in September and with luck I'll be there soon too. Cheers, Grace
  13. University of Calgary

Hey Petethecanuck (I'm from Vancouver too btw =D), Thanks for your answers! So are you in the 20 month program? Must be crazy but it's great that you're almost finished! Do you remember if U of C looked at anything beyond your aGPA? Such as an essay,...
  14. University of Calgary

Wow! 3.85 is really getting up there. I wish I'd been around when there was a 3.0 gaurantee. I'm applying to the degree holder route that starts in Jan 2012. I've got a 3.2 aGPA when the admissions advisor expected the competitive average to be 3.4. ...
  15. University of Calgary

Hi, I'm wondering where you heard that U of C gaurantees acceptance at 3.0? Thanks. Grace
  16. UBC Nursing

Hey there, I was wondering, where you heard that uCal guarantees acceptance for people with GPA of 3.0/4.0 or better? Also, the GPA you are referring to is for the last year (or 30 credits) of study, correct? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! Did you do upgrading for the pre-requisite courses only? Or just for the purpose of improving your GPA?
