Hey Sheeco, Well, since there are about 150 students in the program or so the program needs to be divided into 4 sections. So you pick your section according to what days you are able to come to school. For example, my section, Section 2, is Monday through Thursdays with Fridays off. I believe Section 1 is Monday through Friday but Thursdays off. And then Section 3 is Monday through Friday no days off. And I never saw a section 4 but people say there is one. (It might be the Baptist Scholars program) When you say you will be done with your prereqs by Fall2011, do you mean your last term will be summer ? Or that you will have to still take some prereqs in fall term? If your last prereqs term is Summer than you should apply for Fall2011 Nursing program and you need to start applying NOW. I know people who are already applying and trust me, if you wait until January there will be a wait list and youll have to wait another year. So definitely start applying NOW if you know youll be done and ready for the Nursing Program for Fall 2011. Also, Fall2011 offers a Scholars Program through Baptist. This program basically is a commitment with Baptist in which they pay like 75% of your studies and then you work for them for 3 years once you graduate. You can find more about that through your Nursing advisor. (Dont worry the deadline is not anytime soon and before you apply you must be accepted to barry) If you still are going to take a pre-req semester during Fall term then maybe you should consider applying for the accelerated option in January. This program is much more rigorous so it is required that you haven't failed any classes and that you mostly have recieved a's and b's in your science courses. you can start applying for that now or in January. But listen, the sooner you apply THE BETTER your chances are! I reallyyyyy recommend you to make an appointment with the Nursing advisor. I wish I can post her name here but due to regulations from allnurses.com I am not allowed to. However, you can call the division of nursing and ask for the Nursing advisor and make an appointment with her ASAP!!! like now if you can. Just so you can know what you need and you won't have to stress. As far as the scrubs go, they require you to have the same exact scrubs. Same color and with logo. They sell them at the book store and they are pretty pricy. But they say that if you can find the same exact color elsewhere you can buy them however you must put the logo on it and I think you buy the logo in the bookstore. The scrubs are like a medium gray. I think its just easier to buy it at the bookstore. Any other questions, Id be more than happy to help! :) Dont hesitate to ask hun!

Did anyone choose Section 2?

Cary- I know what you mean and my friends initials are K.R so its not the same one lol.. but omg Im really excited too.. I am going to FIU right now to take Theology but I graduated from Miami Dade with my AA aswell. I havent checked the books out yet because I am afraid that some teachers might not use them. But Idk if I should wait until after orientation.. or idk What do you guys think? Theres also a site where you can rent them online? Or buy them like at barnes and nobles bc it comes out WAYYYY cheaper!

Hey guys! OMG I am starting Fall 2010 aswell. I was also originally going to start in Spring 2011. But then when I went to register for classes the advisor told me I was able to start in Fall if I wanted too and OF COURSE I WANT TO! lol.. Im super excited! I chose Section 2. And I have a friend who got in aswell who was supposed to start in Fall 2011 but I told her about what happened to me and now shes in fall2010. She picked section 1 but is changing to section 2. Cary- Whats your friends name? omg maybe its the same friend! haha :)

I got accepted to the Fall2010 !!!! Guys they are still taking people who are meeting the requirements!!! Find out! However the Baptist scholarsprogram has already picked there few.

Hey guys :) Those who have already recieved acceptance to Winter. Did you guys call to find out? Or did you recieve a letter? I am so eager to find out my status yet so nervous! I want to call and find out if they know my status already because on my VIP page under admissions it doesn't say anything. Before it said my app was being reviewed. Im so worried. I applied like in early June. Ahhh! ... Jackie

Hey everyone! My name is Jackie and I am new to allnurses.com. I have been following several threads about nursing programs. I also applied for Nova winter program 2011! I applied like around mid june and I am soooooo nervous! I am afraid i wont get in either. My gpa is a 3.2 I am taking classes in the summer so my gpa will def. go up but I am terrified that I dont get accepted. However, my extra curriculars are very strong. I even sent in a CV resume with my letters of recommendations. It says my application is in review but I dont know I am soooo scared! Kristou, and for those of you who are considering applying for Baptist scholars for fall term, I had spoken to the nursing advisor at Barry and she told me that if anyone gets accepted to Spring term that you YOURSELF can go to different hospitals and speak to the human resources dept and try to negotiate a scholarship as well. Like you negotiate with them .. pay this for me and ill work for you for this long and it might actually work out better for you instead of having to be committed for 3 years. bf24RN- Congratulations! When did you apply for the spring term? And do you mind sharing your gpa and more or less the grades that you recieved in the core sciences! I am also applying to the Spring term but I havent applied yet because Terry told me to wait till I finish the summer classes so my new GPA can set it. Please let me know.
